Yeah. If we go with the "Five Wednesday" pattern, then we have December, at which point they will have 6 regular issues out, then the next opportunity will be next July. There are five Wednesdays next April, but that 's in the middle of the move to Burbank.

Part of me thinks December would still be a bit soon - but on the other hand, they should have just finished their second arc - and so, one assumes, the bulk of the set-up - and so a "what he left behind" Annual might fit in nicely. Good way to top off the first trade, too, or lead the second.

True. Of course, if Grayson proves very popular, they could always go the Marvel route and double-ship. They have done that with Harley Quinn at least once already.

This is definitely a short term thing. They aren't going to keep him a secret agent. Just like Tim Drake didn't work for the FBI (or whatever government agency it was) for very long a few years ago.

But would they bring him back as Nightwing or just shuffle him off to Comics Limbo so Didio doesn't have to look at him?

Dick is to big of a character to be in limbo, and in Grayson he is already away so Didio doesn't have to look at him.

I just hope they keep the title Grayson. I don't want this series to be like an 8-issue interlude before they pick up Nightwing numbering at 31.

With the success so far and it already being announced to return after convergence I wouldn't say its permanent with him being NoNightwing in the upcoming tv show but he would likely stay in this role for quite some time.
