That's some really creepy imagery of the ceremony, and the flashback is done well narratively. (Though I think the last two, or even four, last panels of the flashback didn't need any narration at all.)

Really enjoyed the 1st issue! The book feels like a WW book in horror mode! Now the preview for Wednesday looks even more
Amazing! Glad James is bringing magic to Themyscira. Is anyone else reading?
