Hayek is the leader as in team leader. Sersi is the lead as in the protagonist.
Like Wiccan said, Salma is the *leader* of the Eternals, Gemma Chan is the protagonist. I remember they announced the initial cast sans Gemma Chan and Kit Harrington, everybody thought Richard Madden's Ikaris was the lead but then later that year they announced Gemma Chan as Sersei, which is where I first heard the news that she was going to be the lead Eternal.

Can't believe this article mentions a possible ending for the MCU. Guess they wanted clickbait. I say no way as long as they find ways to keep it fresh. As the article mentions later on down the line, as in comics, a soft reboot might work for viewers to enjoy the story. But yeah SW has been going strong for 44 years with many different stories you can tell. Same way with the MCU. They have a deep well of stories to get inspiration from. Plus both have massive fanbases.
