Secret identity thing is kinda moot in the MCU anyway because the only one with a family or even non agent/hero friends is Ant-Man. And his family got targeted in the first movie because of it.

We will have to see if Parker goes that route or not since his ID got revealed but based on the rumors it doesn't seem so.

Pepper was in danger every single movie regardless.

We will have to see if Sam's family ever gets targeted or not.

Karli actually threatened Sam's family, but she treated it like she wasn't serious. Although with how inconsistent and dangerous she was I could've seen her actually do it if she was desperate enough.

If Batroc hadn't died he might've gone after them too since he wanted payback against Falcon.

The thing is, all the villains get beat up anyway. Look at what happened to Yellowjacket. It's a lesson for villains not to touch heroes' families because they end up losing

Can someone explain to me how Don Cheadle got nominated for an Emmy for Falcon and Winter Soldier? I like Don Cheadle a lot, he's a fabulous actor, but that's full bonkers

They came pretty darn close, though. If villains losing was enough of a deterrent, we would probably start seeing less villains .

But they still lost. And it's not a deterrent against being villain, but against targeting heroes' families

I'm just saying failure in one respect isn't necessarily going to deter others from doing the same. Definitely hasn't seemed that way.

Yeah, but that's because comics like to reuse tropes.

Well, it seems sensible enough to me.

We'll agree to disagree. I don't miss those tropes at all.

    Well, I don't think it's a trope that's going away any time soon .

Maybe, but the secret id is less common now, and I personally prefer it like that

Yeah, that was a weird ass nomination. Carl Lumbly deserved it more.

Happy that WandaVision got so much love, though, even if I don't expect them to win most of it.

I have no problem with Marvel ditching secret identities for all but a handful of their heroes in the MCU.

I'm also ok with them ditching the 'no kill' rule.

Don Cheadle should be nominated for his show Black Monday because he is hilarious in that show.
