Marvel Studios is reportedly looking for new characters to replace The Serpent Society in ‘CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD’.

Ah yes love this MCU formula of making something then ripping it all apart with reshoots leading to a barely watchable movie

3 month initial shoot, 5 months of reshoots. They're basically remaking the entire film. Not looking good for this movie at all

She was blown up and then mentally controlled to be an assassin...how about she NOT be put in the field like this but getting psychological help? I also really don't want to see RG portrayed as the fat, drunk and stupid character from the BW movie but more of a capable soldier. And from other things I am hearing about the focus on Yelena...I think a team movie needs to be about the team...not focused on any one or two characters with all the others shuffled to the back ground.

Plus there is the idea of this group going after Evil Superman Pastiche.

For me replace Taskmaster with Trish / Hellcat in a proper costume and put them against a more believable villain.
I didn't like Taskmaster either, but I also don't think that alone should mean getting rid of them for good. All it takes is a good well written script to turn a character around. There are several Marvel characters both in and out of the MCU that I didn't like in their debut movie but a different script later and I enjoyed them as they grew. Just look at how Deadpool has erased the 2009 version from everyone's mind. I'm willing to give MCU Taskmaster another chance. This might not be the version I want, but who knows? Maybe in some freak turn of events she steals the show in Thunderbolts.

I mean, I'm game if they can redeem the MCU take but they have a lot of work to do to make that work and I question whether they really understand the characters' appeal enough to get it right a second go-around.

We've already met the MCU A.I.M. eh? Then go SECRET EMPIRE I guess...

Without seeong the video, I guess the minimization of Kang was one of those changes.

If this news report is accurate, this isn't good at all.

I wonder what's really going on at Marvel these days.

This movie in particular has been shot and re-shot and is still being re-shot.

It's too bad. I was looking forward to seeing the Serpent Society. It's weird that they are still considered a joke when Gruenwald went the extra mile to develop them as a serious threat. Seth Rollins / King Cobra has reportedly been completely cut from the movie and I was interested in seeing him more than anyone else

It's so weird how the movies keep avoiding using the Serpent Society.

Though having a Captain America movie be so centered around a Hulk plot is weird in and of itself.

I'd rather have the Serpent Society over all the Hulk rumored stuff to be in a Captain America movie. This is just another consequence of not having the movie rights to a Hulk movie I suppose. Maybe they confused Serpent Society with Sons of the Serpent's group and thought now wouldn't be a good time for that?

If anything making Ross/Red Hulk the nemesis for Captain Americas feels like shades of DC/JLU with General Eiling transferring his mind to the shaggy man which always felt like Morrison creating a DC version of Hulk.

Elderly Harrison Ford’s face cg’ed onto a giant muscular red body is going to be horrifying. Not looking forward to that nightmare.

This just kind of sounds like two things had female assassin characters in them.
I'm probably just being influenced by the fact they're both being played by blonde English actresses sporting Russian accents, but the dinner scene in Hawkeye between Yelena and Kate is very Killing Eve, and I can't think of a similar scene featuring Natasha or Elektra. But maybe there are lots of scenes with Yelena like that from the comics before this, I'm not familiar enough with the character.

See now I kind of want to see that. Make Red Hulk a horror show. Which is a improvement for me as I don't find the character himself all that interesting on his own. Grumpy old politician Hulk.
