So Disney could sell toys, man. And so they don't have to waste three seconds of screen time while the hero takes it off and puts it on. Those seconds add up, you could put a cameo in there if the hero isn't wasting time using their hands!

I'm over the retractable helmets too. It's fine for some characters but everybody does that now. It's become bland.

And I'm not mad at some questionable cgi. We've all heard about how hard it was for studios to work through the pandemic and how they're still hard-pushed and trying to catch up. Not gonna be bothered by these over stressed and over worked people not always putting in their best work. And I can't blame studios for holding to difficult deadlines either, they need to release content. It's harsh but it is what it is. Word is animators are looking to unionize, and I hope they do. That, as well as Marvel delaying some projects and life returning to some semblance of normal, will hopefully result in a healthier and more sustainable work environment and better quality material.

And it's not like Hollywood didn't put out some questionable cgi before covid either. The MCU included.

That said, She-Hulk shouldn't be in the running for any cgi awards either.

Here is some talk about china, disney and marvel from the direct.
Disney Announces Marvel Movie BAN In China Officially Lifted
For the first time since 2019, a Marvel Studios production will finally be released in Chinese theaters with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Ever since it was revealed that Black Widow wouldn’t see a theatrical debut in the country, it snowballed from there, with every Marvel film since then not appearing in Chinese cinemas.

It was either due to China restricting all international releases to prioritize its own domestic film industry or comments made by the franchise's stars or directors, like Chloé Zhao.

So, many fans assumed the worst and that no Marvel film would ever play in China again. However, in a surprising bit of news, both sequels for Black Panther and Ant-Man and The Wasp will run in Chinese theaters this February.

    Marvel Studios Returns to China

According to a Weibo account run by Marvel Studios, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be released in Chinese theaters on February 7 and 17, respectively, marking the end of the Marvel movie ban in the country.

    Why the Change of Heart?

The most obvious assumption at the change of heart from China could be the return of former Disney CEO Bob Iger, who historically had good relations with China. It's possible that Bob Chapek had somehow soured them so much that just seeing him replaced was enough.

Only a month out from potential release in China, it’s hard to believe that this would be another preemptive blunder from Disney. For instance, marketing for Black Widow in China had alluded to a release that never came.

Hopefully, Chinese fans will finally see a Marvel film in theaters again after over a three-year hiatus.

It’ll also be good for Disney’s box office, as the ban in the box office giant of a nation has prevented films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from cracking a billion.

Again, Chinese fans will (hopefully) be able to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on February 7 in theaters, followed by Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 17.

Damn, does that mean Wakanda Forever gets to $1B? It's at $840M right now and iirc non-Spidey, non-Avengers MCU movies typically make ~$100-150M in China.

China doesn't have Disney+. They do have tons of bootlegging, though.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

As the others have pointed out, the folks in China that want to see the film would have likely caught the bootlegs already.

It's extremely unlikely to get a billion dollars WW.

We'll see. I'm very curious to see the first box office information when it's released. It could go either way, since there are plenty of factors to consider. Covid, post-lockdown feelings, first Marvel movie in a while, delayed release, etc. Plus, almost everything that comes out in China gets bootlegged and people still go to the theaters.

Wasn't sure where to post this since it addresses both Marvel and DC but:

I'm guessing Kevin Feige won't be calling up Stephen Dorff anytime soon...

If Fiege *did* call I'm betting Dorff would answer, be polite, and accept any cameo he was offered. Getting to show up in the MCU is still a big deal, far as I know.

Marvel's Nova said to be a Generational Film like Ant-Man

    cell Quote-
Well the movie and show for nova will be big budget but the show will have the budget broken up for 6 to 9 episodes for example.

So it would focus on Sam and his father?
