Given we have everyone’s favourite grizzled dad man as Reed we better have Franklin and Valeria from the start.

Apparently Wonder Man will be another Marvel Spotlight project like Echo so that suggests a self contained story, more adult rated and maybe with all episodes at once?

    So I'm reading there's going to be a Shang-Chi 2.

Considering the last one came out 2 years ago, there's going to be a large gap between parts 1 and 2 which isn't ideal.

From what I've been reading, it seems Marvel is overhauling a lot of stuff behind the scenes which is really for the best.

I don't know about that Pedro Pascal as Reed Richard's works though. I think he's a little old for that role.

Looks like we have our Reed Richards.

Yeah, Pascal is great, but if it's true, doesn't seem like a great choice

Yeah, that surprises me. I wouldn't think anything in Wonder Man would really warrant it.

I am personally exhausted by how negative and toxic and just plain unhappy comic book fandom is most of the time. They never are content or satisfied with any CBM these days, and if said CBM stars more than one woman (Birds of Prey, The Marvels), forget about it. The claws come out...

I wonder if that film will prompt papers to print articles like this one from today's Sun. Accuses The Marvels of being woke, along with Thor: Love and Thunder and the following comics: Superman: Son of Kal-El, Tim Drake: Robin, Invincible Iron Man (when Riri was it's lead), and New Warriors (which wasn't even published!)

They have plans for Cindy at least. Wasn't Silk meant to get her own streaming show? Jess I'd say is off limits due to her being more of an Avengers character. She'd need to be a Sony/Disney collab like Spider-Man itself else they can't properly adapt her origin.

Chances are that the FF will come from another Earth where they are established and that explains the age. We don't need an Origin story for a lot of these heroes anymore, just need quality stories.

Especially not when two movies in the last 20 years already did the origin. Fans should already know the basics even if they aren't comic readers.

Heck, you can even use the Negative Zone as the bridge and set up Annihilus as the Major baddie setting to take over the MCU after he destroyed the Fox-Men universe. Which also bridges in X-Men...

Or just a brief recap summary and not hour-long detailed look.

This is a big flaw TBH with the movies. they are unwilling to do summarized intros. If people don't need all hour of back story, you don't need to put it on screen!

Their is something about an updated origin...but still honors the original story.

I have not kept up with the madame web casting news etc.. but i had no idea latina actress Isabela Merced was playing spider-girl Anya Corazon.
She is also playing a version of hawkgirl in the upcoming dcu film superman: legacy.

    I heard they cancelled it?

I don't even know what's happening anymore. What projects are still going forward?

...y'know, Marvel could take all this negative press lately, fold that into Wonder Man's story, and maybe make a really interesting story out of it. I'd kind of like to see, through fictional proxy, the Studio tell their side of this story. But to do that well would require a level of finesse Marvel has never gone after. Still, could be good in the right hands.

F'real. Not unusual for Marvel to wait years between sequels, but I dunno how much I care for the practice. Still, it worked out here.

I wonder why we're not following characters as closely between solo movies. Like with Strange, it took what, five years between solo movies? But he appeared regularly elsewhere, Ragnarok and Spidey3, Avengers 3/4, What If. Characters were used enough so audiences didn't forget about them. Stuff was name dropped more, like the fall of SHIELD. And we're not getting as much of that right now. We've gotten some, Wong showing up a few times, Murdock's two cameos. Oddly I've seen posters for Rogers the musical in a few different things. Obviously a lot of folks mentioned Tony dying and/or the Battle for earth. But nobody's even mentioned there's a new Captain America, or that the king of Wakanda died shortly after returning from the Blip. Has anyone noticed people reading Ant-Man's book, because I haven't. And there's been spots in a lot of shows and films that could have worked in a reference pretty organically, without pulling attention away from anything or eating up screen time.

I feel like the MCU has reached the point where the weird and crazy has become a lot more everyday, less worthy of comment, and I appreciate that (nobody is startled by shapeshifting elves walking down the street, and gods are just a tourist attraction now). And I know there's a lot going on, and too many characters to squeeze in for cameos. It's a bigger MCU than it was in phase 2, y'know? But things feel more disjointed, which is a double edged sword. I like a good stand-alone story and felt in phase 3 that things were getting *too* tied together, and I enjoyed the more stand-alone nature of phase 4. But I think they're going a little overboard with it, or at the least, they're failing to remind audiences of the 'big' events and characters.

Remember how Star Wars, New Hope begins with the scrolling recap of sorts, and right into it?

Think of this in an updated way, we get the heroic theme (their's) and a cool scroll with a sense of their origin but

they're on the run in an adventure. Maybe it's fleeing the Neg zone, or some rip in / between 'verses.

maybe they're following the big G here, he already came, or its part of the plot.
We learn a recap version and move into the story.
    * Are Franklin and Valeria on board?

The FF have so much texture, that 'just coming into' the regular MCU verse means they sacrifice that or

rediscover those aspects. For a Marvel Comics purist, many things have already been lost due to the way the MCU

    changed them for the MCU.
