Definitely giving this a try! It looks like a "what if Beatrix Potter and J.R.R. Tolkien got together and did some crack" kind of thing. Very cool!

I was trying to understand the connection to that unfinished project from way back.... Guess it is just the same name and publisher lol.

Fantasy, to me, is so incredibly delicate and hard to get right and really appealing without getting too completely alien and overwhelming. There are so few instances that i can point to that work in comics.

This I'm very much looking forward to. Kurt's a great guy and from this interview it's apparent that they're collaborating and building, but that the main tapestry has been percolating slowly in his subconscious.

Kamandi with magic. That's the sinker.

    Looking forward to this.

It looks awesome, although from the cover, the warthog-witch and Comicraft's involvement I initially thought that this would somehow tie in to "Elephantmen".

No connection at all, other than that we presumably both got the title from the same Tennyson quote:

Who trusted God was love indeed
    And love Creation's final law
Tho' Nature, red in tooth and claw
With ravine, shriek'd against his creed

I endeavor to think the other connection is pure AWESOMENESS. Image is once again proving it has a habit of publishing the most exciting creator titles on the planet - be it the 90's, 00's or Teens

Just like there also being (as you're likely aware) a very good fantasy novel by Jo Walton of the same name.

"Jane Austen with dragons," it's described as.

I've started it a couple of times, but always right when I was getting sick and couldn't read much. I'll have to finish it sometime. I like Jo Walton's books.

Image just posted a small Busiek snippet about his excitement to write a "mature audiences only" comic. I am really looking forward to this series!
