Yup. I always said I didn't care about going gray early, but the second I start to go bald (I'm in my mid 30's and it hasn't happened yet) I shave my whole head. I will *not* be that guy. I will be bald and beautiful! lol

I understand the thinking behind it at the time, but it was an unnecessary change.
I thought the way Geoff Johns explained them was particularly clever.

People go gray early. I started getting gray hair at 16. A friend of mine started going bald at 18.

Hal started going gray early. Not a big deal. Not a sign of being "too stressed" or being "old" or anything. He just went gray before 40.

I went gray in my teens. I have Obama hair now. It is tough for people to pinpoint my age, lol.

It should never happen because I don't like Hal as a character, but if I ever got to write him I'd have him start going gray early (again) and worry that Parallax was creeping up on him again.

You could actually get some great comedic moments out of that.

I can imagine some bwah-hah-hah moments when Bruce and other teammates starts noticing Hal with gray hair. People around Hal may start to subtlety freak out thinking he's been infected with the yellow bug again when it's only nature taking its course.

I could even see Sinestro trying to verify that Parallax (or some part of it) did not return to Hal.

All the while, Hal is wondering what the hell is wrong with everybody!

You could actually get some great comedic moments out of that.

My graying was very gradual. Despite going through the process for the past 35 years now, I'm still in the salt-and-pepper stage (though more salt than pepper at this point ).

While I voted "no opinion," if I had to made a choice between the two, I would have voted against the gray.

Sucked. Major superheroes should never be depicted as elder statesmen in my opinion. Plus it didn't make much sense since the rest of the JL founders never aged like that. Batman never became middle-aged, yet Hal did? It was obvious DC gave him those gray temples so they could start pushing him towards the exit door as soon as possible. How do you get rid of one of your premier characters in order to eventually replace him with a younger cooler character? By making him old and obsolete. It was the same reason the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced Hank Pym as an old man so they could push Scott Lang as the main Ant-Man.

But I digress, the short answer is no, I didn't like the gray temples and to me that's some of the worst time in the character's history.

Umm... No. They were not very popular when they first appeared out of nowhere. They are only popular now because Kyle fans who don't like Hal personally believe he was better as Parallax (grey temples and all)

Sabotage or not , I would be greatly surprised if the vast majority of pro-gray people placed Hal over either Kyle or John as their favorite GL.

I've had gray in my hair and in my goatee since I was 28 (shrug). I never saw it as depicting Hal as "old". I just saw it as a cool design choice when artists didn't go overboard with the size of the streaks.
