Uncanny X-men Disassembled coming in November

November solicits are out and just basing this on the covers, Jean Grey, Bishop, Storm, Nightcrawler and Iceman are definitely in the Uncanny team when the books starts. Throw in Rogue and Gambit and Angel and this feels like the '90' Jim Lee X-men 1 era gold / blue team x-men.

I'm thinking Psylocke will also be part of the main group but they don't want to spoil the upcoming change for her. Never mind that they already have with other artwork. But yeah this is great. 90's Blue/Gold (along with Nightcrawler, Kitty and more recently Emma and X-23) build back towards what are undeniably the core character of the X-series. You can probably throw Cable, Domino, a few of the New Mutants/ OG X-Force and Havok, Polaris, Forge, Banshee and Rachel in there but with the except of Rachel possibly they're really more fringe members. Even nearly 30 years on we haven't gotten past this, and I actually think that's a good thing. Strong characters remain strong characters for a reason.

Just the first issue is $8, the rest are the usual $4.

At least the first issue is 72 pages, otherwise I wouldn't be very happy (but would still buy it).

Yep, one of the positives to my having no incentive at all right now to buy into this event. I can spend that money on other things, like commissioning stuff I want that Marvel won't supply.

I noticed that Marvel is bringing out some collections that might indicate relaunches of some titles will be on the horizon.

Looking at those collections TPBs, I see New X-Men/Academy X, X-Factor and X-Men with Rogue as leader.

Hope this is indeed a sign.

At first I hadn't even noticed the price tag on Uncanny #1. But for 72 pages all drawn by Asrar, it looks like it's very much worth the cost.

Look for the new Uncanny to totally cannibalize Astonishing and Red though. With 3 issues coming out in November and a $8 issue 1, there's no way retailers aren't going to slash their orders for the other 2 books dramatically - especially since Astonishing now has the same writer and characters you will find in Uncanny, and Red is now a leftover from the old editorial team. I expect them to conclude by the end of the year at the latest.
