Assuming they are themselves and not an illusion, impostors or training in the danger room would not be the first time writers ignore this details involving decimation. But if had to explain this without going too deep just put the blame on Mothervine virus. Although the events of X-men Blue were addressed only in this comic was a big event creating mutants and causing those who lost their powers to recover them again.

They've been addressed in Astonishing written by Rosenberg, who is also writing UNCANNY

I support this idea, Sooraya has SO much potential, and is being wasted sittin' on the sidelines.

Right?? She's such a great character. Even visually, I love what she brings to the table. Including Sooraya would bring some great diversity to the core X-Men too, regarding her gender, race, age AND religion. I'd love to see how she'd interact with some of the more seasoned X-Men, and for her to showcase her potential in combat situations.

YES. Throwing them on a team together in Phoenix Resurrection but then not having them interact was an absolute waste.

I’m curious; how vehemently will you oppose literally any other pairing for her?
Cyclops was SO DAMN RIGHT, BABY
Pull list: X-23, Mr. & Mrs. X, Extermination, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, Uncanny X-Men

I don't think Dragoness was depowered. She was one of the Mutants living on Utopia

Yeah I think it's nice, besides the coloring error.

Really cool to see some of the New X-Men again- even if the MLF are completely owning them in combat. Which kinda sucks, given all of them (except maybe Glob) have had plenty of combat experience, and the MLF never seemed particularly competent anyway. I suppose the X-kids did just emerge from an X-Jet crash site, so maybe they're not operating at full strength.

Kamikaze was killed back in X-Factor #85, according to the Marvel wiki. I like to think that any returned character within the X-Men that should be dead just never returned to the grave during the Necrosha event. Other than Dragoness, the rest were depowered after M-Day. However a recent arc in X-Men Blue showed Wildside repowered due to Mothervine, so I suppose one could assume that's how Strobe and Forearm were repowered too.
Kamikaze was decapitated by Archangel. Forearm had his neck snapped in an issue of Wolverine a decade ago, something about an superpowered fight club.

I think Dust is one of the few New X-Men left that hasn't been confirmed for this event. The others being Gentle, Mercury, Elixir, and Prodigy. If there is gonna be some scenes of Searebro or a continuation of the Dead Souls plot, then Nezhno and David might have a shot at appearing.
