Default Just when will DC allow Barry to see just what Flashpoint has cost him ?

After reading this CBR article (https://www.cbr.com/the-flash-rebirt...llen-marriage/) and the events of Flash War I have to ask when will DC allow Barry to see just what the events of Flashpoint has cost him overall ?

Plus WHY DOESN'T Barry regain his own Pre-Flashpoint memories ?

As a fan of the Flash what do you think of this ?

Well, it wasn't Barry's fault that Thawne was able to go back in time and change Barry's past.
Once DC allows Barry to fix that problem (so that his mother no longer died when he was younger), many other things can then be corrected.

I think he does know...except it's all abstract rather than something he remembers empirically experiencing.

the ongoing saga in Flash will ultimately culminate with Barry stopping Thawne and saving his mother, successfully. I guarantee it.

He's probably heard (perhaps from Wally) that he once had another life wherein he and Iris had been married for years, but he doesn't remember actually having lived that life.

I would like that. The Rebirth retcon was completely unnecessary. Before Crisis, he still had both of his parents alive. They came to to his wedding and everything. Nowadays, you’re hard-pressed to find any Silver or Bronze Age character with living, married parents.

What makes restoring Barry's original, Silver Age origin story and background difficult at this point is that the Post-FLASH REBIRTH (2009) interpretation is now deeply embedded in other media, including animation, live action TV, and live action cinema. If not for that consideration, it would be much easier to revert to the Silver Age origin.

Yep. Once something is used by the more popular mediums successfully, you will need more than a silver bullet or wooden stake to kill it off.

That's why I'm always worried about not getting classic or near classic versions of characters being the first mainstream versions of characters in tv or film. If someone who has never heard of any of these characters watches Suicide Squad for the first time and loves that Joker then they would be pretty disappointed if they picked up a comic and he is nothing like that. Same goes for the current Superman.

We finally got a Wonder Woman movie but its heavily based on the New 52 origin. That's going to be stuck in the public mind that she's a demigod even if we get a movie down the road that does the clay origin. Building movies and other media off of things that feel temporary or too new feels wrong to me. Silver and Bronze Age origins and stories should be focused on and retooled because those have been proven to stand the test of time. But thats just my opinion.

Sort of different from this situation because this story was in the comics first, but this is why I hate when comic book adaptions depart heavily and noticeably from the source material. You wind up with synergy in the comics and it doesn’t tend to go away. People will always say “It’s an adaption. Another universe. It’s not changing the source material.” That’s right until it’s not. Like the crappy new Barry Allen origin, if it’s heavilly used in other media, they are far less likely to get rid of it in the comics, which is real unfortunate. Not just because the origin sucks and makes the character less unique, but also because a significant majority of people that watch the show and the movies don’t read the comics. And it’s severely underestimating the intelligence of the few that do by implying that they wouldn’t be able to understand something different from the onscreen versions.
