Yeah but I don't really see much compelling evidence that the Golden age villains in particular have no need to be revamped and she benefits from ignoring them
Not when her core rogues gallery is still Cheetah, Ares and his cohorts, Circe and Dr. Psycho, all golden ages villains who were revamped and still have recognizable roots in their old portrayals. Whereas a lot of villains from the 90s and 2000s have fallen by the wayside. Stands to reason that other villains from that era could use more regular usage as Marston and his team put more thought into their villains than others if that period.

I didn't say all golden age villains.

Literally every single WW villain ever has the potential to be revamped into a badass threat. And those that may seem "too goofy to be taken seriously" (Egg Fu, Amoeba Man) can always be used as, cool, one-time Easter Eggs/wink-wink moments.
I am still waiting for a modern badassification of Queen Clea, Adjudicator, and Empress of the Silver Snake.

With the resurgence of popularity, both Wonder Woman and Aquaman are having right now, I'm shocked DC hasn't created some type of World's Finest with the two against Clea. A miniseries seems like it could be quite successful.

Think Gail Simone did a revamp of the Silver Snake Empress IIRC. It was near the tail-end of her run and before the Odyssey revamp, so it was pretty quickly overlooked.

If you can revamp crimson centipede, you can revamp anyone.

    I absolutely agree.
However, as we all know, some of the decisions DC has made regarding Wonder Woman and other non-Batman, non-Superman heroes are...confounding, to say the least. I could be wrong because I don't follow Aquaman, but I think I read somewhere that even after the billion-dollar success of the James Wan/Jason Momoa/Amber Heard film, Aquaman still doesn't have a current solo book. WTF

Egg Fu is best left forgotten. Even Rucka couldn't make that character work.

I'm fine with Diana's invulnerability not being as high as Superman's. Strength and speed wise she should be a match for Superman, Flash, Heracles, Thor and other heroes of myth.

It justifies the armor, bullets and bracelets and makes fights more interesting.

I was looking at a clip of a game called Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. In that game there is a character from Marvel who is a very large head in a warsuit with tiny mechanical arms. If that can work and be cool to people I suppose Egg Fu can too.
    Somehow

Egg Fu's problem isn't that he's goofy. His problem is that he's a racist caricature.

The Batman Brave and the Bold comic used the Chang Tzu design, but named him Yggphu-Soggoth. He was some being from another dimension and the Chinese connection was removed entirely.

I think that's the only context where you could get by with an Egg Fu revamp, and even so it's not like there is any great demand for him in the first place to make it worth it.

    you're talking about M.O.D.O.K..

TBH the DCUO version of Egg-fu is... well..... a niche character who's not a major character.

Egg Fu's persistence seems just more a testament to comic writers not understanding not every stupid half-thought from the Silver Age needs to be brought back and honored.

Ah, from the old school look. What if they were to remove that element and perhaps do the whole alien thing?
