The original, but reimagined as a Grecian battle kilt.

Agreed on the Grecian Battle Kilt. Would fit the overall motif, and the history the Amazons have (a lot of cultures back then were in contact with the ancient Greeks afterall).

Rome Total War is where the image is from. Old game, but you can see the style.

Also of note; the game also had hidden units, including Amazonian Chariots (though up in Russia, for some reason).

What about Diana being in the Amazon's armor of the golden age.

Oh, I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking of Diana in Amazonian clothing, I was thinking about her superhero costume. Her old school costume is a leotard.

I don’t know it doesn’t seem like a leotard. Has in the golden age and many others we see clear separated of her shorts and top.

If she stays as a multiverse character she'll probably never be heard from again. I say go with other people's idea of her. Doom gate or whatever was opened and 13 demons were released into "man's" world.

Another competition in the same way that allowed Diana to leave the island Nubia wins. She then meets up with Diana and her own supporting cast to get the demons back to the gate. The supporting cast for Nubia would be humans and magical creatures kind of like the magic community in JL Dark.

If the baby origin is still in play you could say phillipus before she got together with Hippolyta meet a man trying to sail past paradise island. The man turned out to be an Orisha, a Yoruba god, personally guiding his men on the ocean. That would mean Nubia is Diana half sister and explains why she has god powers like Diana. Plus it gives opportunities to explore different cultures and opens up some diversity.

For those who don't want her to be a relative off Diana then she can just be the daughter of some amazon conjured up by magic.

Seeing others talk about her costume, my controversial opinion is that she’s never looked better. The redesign totally revived my interest in her aesthetically. I always loved when they would put her and the other Amazons in armor, so I’m glad it’s become her new look.

I absolutely hated the star spangled bathing suit. It was ridiculous. I prefer a mix of style, symbolism and practicality. No heels, no bathing suit... honestly they could go farther with the Greek inspired armor. I love it. As long as they keep the color scheme, bracers, tiara (though I wouldn’t mind a full face guard like Antiopes, at least from time to time), and the lasso, I think they could do more while still making it read “Wonder Woman.”

As for the debate over her legwear, I think a battle skirt over pants/leg armor would look good tbh.

Not sure if this is controversial, I also wish Diana sported a warriors braid more often (see DCUO cinematic and her training days in the movie)... and I think DC should change her eyes to brown in more media (not everyone needs blue eyes in comics lol).

That's the best way I describe it. It's just star-spangled undies, lol.

Your image made me think of something too; more wood in Amazon tech, less metal. I want some steel and gold and silver, gilding and bling and whatnot of course, but I feel like it would make more sense for the Amazons to use (enchanted?) lumber in most of their construction rather than mining and processing iron and other metals, which is a hell of a lot harder, more time consuming and resource draining.

Though I still want the invisible jet to be an Argus invention, so as far as I'm concerned it can just look like a souped up version of a regular fighter jet (or bomber, or whatever). But for Amazon tech, yes I think a combination of "Gladiator" and "steampunk" would be pretty awesome and appropriate!
You all pretty much summed up what I was trying to go for lol I didn't have the vernacular so in my mind I automatically linked steampunk to airships, when I could have said "greco-roman" airships, or something to the effect. I put that -esque at the end to sound all fancy.

I'm fine with the battle skirt. I'm even cool with the pants-less look, though I prefer the former.

Pants for me would be interesting for me from a historical perspective as the Scythians, horse-riding peoples whom the Amazons of Myth were supposedly based on, wore pants, something which the Greeks thought to be horrid. That's been the case in a couple of things that I have read about the situation, anyway. The Amazons don't have to be exactly like the Scythians, Greeks, or whoever, obviously, but for me there is some precedent for Diana wearing pants based off of that.

In my perfect world she would alternate between pants, battle skirt, and the unitard.

    That's a good point.

Why should Diana just be limited to one costume/look? Why not have her rotate through different costumes and armors?

Harley Quinn went from wearing a costume to just wearing a theme, and no one seems to have a problem recognizing her in different clothes. I can't imagine that anyone is going to struggle with recognizing Diana because she's got pants in one adventure and shorts in another. And this way, everyone's preference gets some attention. Hell, Diana already has a few sets of armor she wears for special occasions/big fights, why not take it a step further?

I wish more artists were comfortable with drawing heroes in different costumes throughout the run, as if they were swapping. I would like to see Diana swapping through her costumes, too. I'm such a nostalgia-driven person, I really miss the unitard a bunch.

I totally disagree with everything you said, sorry. I'm a fan of the star spangled bathing suit with an eagle or =W= on her chest, though I've grown used to the current look we really don't need any more modifications. Pants just aren't Wonder Woman to me.

It terms of Diana being the only child. Would it she was the last child born on the island? That Much like Legends Hippolyta wanted a child. However, she could never get a child until the day she made Diana out of clay. The rest were either due to losing a child of adopted one.

The fact that Diana is a great fighter and was trained doesn’t that mean she should be fine without having to worry about her hair?

    Unpopular opinion.

I actually enjoy the Diana Prince stories when she had relinquished her powers to stay on Earth. Might be because those were the first WW solo stories I’d read, starting 2 issues prior to the Catwoman guest appearances. Other than that, I’d only seen ‘powered’ WW in reprint stories.

I liked the powerless but skilled Diana Prince stories a lot.
