    Oh, hm, no prep?

I mean Reed has to breathe, and also fire and electroshock type stuff can actually hurt him.

Actually Batman doesn't have all that terrible odds here considering standard starting fight distance and gas grenades and such.

given how completely he took Tony apart in the arena in WWH I don't see Batman faring better especially if Reed can close the distance before he can get to his stuff which he has prepared like the payload he used to freeze plastic man etc.

Batman has well better reaction time than Reed, he's not closing the distance before various belt gadgets are tossed/activated. At that point it would be a matter of how well Reed can compensate for that.

Am I reading the OP right? Bruce has prep but Reed doesn't?

Batman should take this. Some of his regular package is at least a little threatening to the guy. Add in the stuff that took down Plastic Man, fear gas, freeze guns or a flipping Lantern Ring and this should be a win... right?

Oh, missed that Batman has prep.

Yeah, the freeze gun at minimum is going to be a problem for Reed. That's without stuff like "he brings the Batplane".

Batman with prep is a scary thing, but even non-prepped Reed is a challenge for him.

    Reed is good at dodging:

And he has feats for bouncing missiles back at the attacker:

Reed is a threat in melee, even against an armored opponent:

    No. Not even close.

He can: a) hit pretty hard doing the whole ‘massive fists’ thing; and b) throw stuff pretty far by turning himself into a slingshot. Otherwise? No particular superhuman strength.

Reed's problem here is that Batman has significantly better reaction time than he does, and especially with one sided prep time, he'll have ways to attack him that Reed is not really all that hot with dealing with. Sonics, gas, freezing crap, what have you. He's not going to close to be a threat.

Doom tried to freeze Reed once:

That took longer than 10 seconds, so it's still an Arena win methinks.

Doom tried to freeze Reed once:
From the content of your own scans he did that by using machinery on the fly, which did a flawed enough job of doing so such that Reed was able to exploit those flaws by Reed's own words. He did it so slowly that Reed was able to go "wtf is happening" while Doom was doing it. It was starting to melt even while Reed was still in it. And even with all that, it still managed to hold him for a while.

This is not all that relevant.

More to the point, it's one thing that Batman can use with prep, along with a bunch of other things that otherwise bypass having to deal with Reed's stretchy physiology edges especially.

if Reed reduces his body cohesion to a fluid state and shrinks himself Batman will have trouble targeting him before he reaches him and envelopes him completely or k.o. him assuming he can activate a electric grid on his suit. of course if he breaks out his helbat armour or summons the bat mobile/ plane then it's a different ball game.
