Seems like a solid start for Spencer's ASM, though I'm curious if he'll be able to keep the book consistently in the top 10 (especially when #2 has already dropped to 7th place).

Yeah, I'm also wondering if Zdarsky was maybe removed from Spectacular for not getting the book higher up

Seems like a pretty good debut for the new creative team. Curious where ASM is in 6 months.

To be fair, that's about on par as Marvel 2-In-One is doing right now as well. It sounds to me like they were happy with what he was doing on Spectacular, but they have offered him a new series to do, so he stepped down so he can work on it.

If Marvel would have promoted issue #1 better it could have beet Batman #50 as the top-selling book IMO.

Maybe if they'd indicated or hinted at the twist at the end it would've gotten more attention, although having it be such a surprise was probably effective in it's own right.

    Doubtful.

Batman #50 was an anniversary issue culminating a long running and popular storyline that promised a major, never-before-seen life changing event.

Of course it was going to be huge - much in the same way that Slott's ASM #800 was huge.

ASM #1 did just fine in comparison.

It hasn't "already dropped to 7th place."

Both #1 and #2 came out the same month. They were ordered at the same time so #2's position does not reflect a response to the sales of #1.

Second issues are never ordered as high as first issues and, in a month as packed with hot titles from both Marvel and DC as July was, of course ASM #2 is going to be sitting a few slot down from #1.

You missed a digit on Venom and the issue numbers of Gwen, RYV and Ben.
