Default Movies you wanna see turned into TV Shows (a la Fargo)

I was just reading on Bloodydisgusting.com that Peter Jackson's The frighteners was originally FIVE hours long. I shouldn't be too surprised there were a lot of subplots and character histories that weren't fully explained (past lives of Judge, Afro ghost etc.). A TV show produced by Jackson, Zemeckis and co. would be cool.

Also, I hear they are making a V for vendetta TV series. Hopefully this will be more like the graphic novel and focus on some of the minor characters such as the wife of a policeman V killed who has to resort to desperate measures to get by..

    and YOUR Movie -to-TV ideas?

Bright. A TV show would better for what the movie was going for.

As for the thread, you've got to know when not to do something just because you can do it.

    Take SyFy and Nightbreed.

Also, the initial post isn't really along the lines of the television version of Fargo.

What is described in it is tied far more closely to their source materials than any of the seasons of Fargo have been.

The Matrix (with different characters from the movies)

    Men in Black

Labyrinth... but I'd almost prefer not to due to the likelihood of screwing it up

In the sense that Fargo the series is more an homage to the tone of the movie...how about Four Rooms...the movie with stories tied together by a bellhop.

Have an anthology series where each season revolves around the guests of a hotel/motel and each season is a 12-13 episode and done plot. Reboot each season at the same hotel and with the same employees for some "continuity" but different plots/main characters.

For some reason, these are the first two that came to mind:
-- "Lord of Illusions" - kindof like if Constantine were a nice guy. I liked the idea of a P.I. like Harry D'Amour who tends to investigate dark mystical crap and who has some kind of dark past himself. Bakula could even be on the show.
-- "Grosse Pointe Blank" - great movie and a cool 90's soundtrack, I always thought this could be a great idea for a show, but the whole "hitman trying to change his ways" dramedy is what HBO's "Barry" has already done so well, that it'd be difficult to top. (or maybe it'd just be a lesser animal on CBS or something...)

A live action Television show of Ghostbusters.
    Gremlins.
    Re-Animator.

I think those three movies could be made to be cool television shows.
