Maybe Martha was orcastrized by both groups and was a messianic jew those who believes jesus was the messiah. Also I always thought thomas wayne was catholic it gives that vibe to me the funeral did and bruce's character after all could explain his back and forth questioning if he studied both aquinas and the talmud. Though probably later on he became a believer of the supernatural and not religious living in the world he lives in that makes sense. Though in a realistic setting being an atheist would make sense
