He isn’t 100% the old Xavier. X is x. He has Xavier’s memory, power set, physical looking and that’s it.

I love how mad people are at X for being a ruthless, powerful trickster, but when Emma or Erik does it, they are their favorite X-Men....

As someone who has read the original run, this is Xavier. He'd mindwipe whole towns recruiting the original X-Men, and covering their asses left and right when they were first getting started. He's always been ruthless. TAS's Xavier was a bit too sweet, as was Patrick Stewart's. Claremont understood this, though. He rode the edge well. This version is a bit more mean, and without restraint, but after battling Shadow King in the Astral for so long, who wouldn't become moreso?

How can they be happy without Cyclops? Damn Jean!
But I love her dress, if only she could pick a nice costume when she’s on duty.

I think that’s becuz Erik n Emma were always portrayed immoral. But Xavier is more of a hypocrite n no one likes hypocrisy. But I like the change tho. I like shady characters xD

    >X is rather disturbing, especially if you think he specifically brought Archangel there to kill Lucifer. Yes, a dark angel killing a dark angel. We get it. And haven't we all wanted to kill secretly evil hipster waiters/baristas?
    >The sad gathering at the beginning felt real. The horror of their lives can't ever be offset by any happiness derived from 'doing good' as X puts it.
    >The happy gathering at the end is creepy. At least Warren and Betsy have the X secret to share together.
    >I enjoyed the issue but the moral implications of X's behaviour are far too big to ignore. I only hope there's a psychic backup copy of the real Xavier's personality post-death but pre-Shadow King battle that can be restored to life in a new body. This sociopath is not someone I want to read about on a regular basis.

Pretty sure Emma and Erik pretending to be heroic and good people is easily as hypocritical as what Xavier is doing here/has done. At least he never took sadistic joy in his shady dealings like they do/did.

I don’t think they ever pretended to be heroic, they might be delusion as to think they r helping but I don’t think they were two faced.
Xavier isn’t sadistic but he sure is manipulative and have some shady morals.

I don't have time enough to post all the instances of this, for both of them. Erik less so, but both have gone on these 'but I'm really just a good person inside' arcs, only to kill hundreds ruthlessly for petty reasons. At least X almost always plays for the greater good.

When has Emma ever done a "I'm just a good person inside" arc? She's ALWAYS been a "get **** done by any means necessary" type of person and her having instances that come off as "soft" is less "secret good person inside" and more "I'm human and I can sometimes be vulnerable"

If you blatantly ignore the entire last 12 years of Emma's run with the X-Men, then it would seem that way, yeah.

Were you sleeping during Fraction's run? Bendis's? Morrison's for god's sake? Generation X? The last two or three decades?

When has Emma ever done anything remotely close to Xavier or Erik's body count, outside the colossal character assassination in the worst X-event of the last 15 years?
