YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's about damn time!!!
I've wanted to sample Spawn for a while so I am glad to see it is headed to digital. McFarlane was WAY overdue on that front, sounds like he wanted to hold out for something special but just gave up.
Image Comics (TPB):
Saga, Southern Bastards, Injection, Descender, Deadly Class, Chew, Black Magick
DC Rebirth (Digital):
The Flash, Batman, Green Lanterns, Aquaman
So, are they scrapping the rest of Image United?
I hope the McFarlane at least does the interiors for issue 250.
As for Image United, here is the last update I can find from Jan.

Been wondering when Spawn was going to finally see digital. Good to know that he's bringing Al back too.
hahahahaha. Image United. Oh that brought tears to my eyes.
How about Alex?
One of the things I like about TWD is that when someone dies, they're dead.
But Al Simmons, he needed to come back like 5 years ago.
And this is happening in December? It sounds like a lovely Christmas present.
I think I'll play one of the Spawn games now..
Whee...
And please Santa.. if you're listening.. don't let Todd just bring Al back to toy around with him.. he needs to be the star.. the only star..
It's been over a decade since I last had Spawn in my pull list, but I was really into it at the time (had almost all the action figures and the entire animated series). I think it was a change in tone and art direction that made me initially drop the book and later finding out that Al Simmons was gone was what kept me from getting back into it.
"Ignore them. They're nothing but a bunch of basement dwellers who spend all day whining on the 'net. Not a single open-minded one in the bunch."

I remember Al Simmons like it was yesterday when he first appeared in 1992. I still have the first 25 issues that I pulled from the store racks. But what would be sweet is for Dan Slott to take over the reins of Spawn and make him into a monster hit. I hope that McFarlane can make Dan Slott an offer that he can't refuse...
Mixed feelins really. Ive enjoyed the McFarlane/Kudranski run, but it was definetly a decompressed read. Although thats always been a problem with Spawn. Still, im excited for the announcement of the new team.
As for Al returning? Meh.
Depends how its handled.
