Like Batman Knightfall or some other story called Nightfall?

You sure you don't "Knightfall" (seeing how he's the "Dark Knight")?

Each KNIGHTFALL collection has missed something that was an integral part of the story. The newer releases do a better job than the older ones, but none yet has really hit all the spots. An ideal KNIGHTFALL collection would need to include VENGEANCE OF BANE, SWORD OF AZRAEL, at least five or six issues of both BATMAN and DETECTIVE COMICS before Bane broke Arkham open, the complete KNIGHTQUEST saga (both THE SEARCH and the CRUSADE), and KNIGHTSEND. All the collections so far have missed one thing or another, but the most recent one rather oddly included PRODIGAL (a great story, but really post-KNIGHTFALL).

How does DC always miss stuff that should be in these collections? Or do they do it so people buy it 3 times?

Sword of Azrael is nice but if you include that you include the first Tim Drake origin as well. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

Also I prefer Knightfall to Killing Joke

Jean Paul Valley/Azrael was a bit more crucial to KNIGHTFALL than Tim Drake was.

That does raise an interesting question: was Azrael created to meet the needs of KNIGHTFALL, as Bane was, or was Azrael something DC was going to do with Batman whether or not there had been a KNIGHTFALL?

Thanks for this. I read knightfall as a standalone some years ago and was so confused.
