A while back, I posted a thread where I put together a theoretical cast for an '80s Spider-Man movie. Behold:
Spider-Man/Peter Parker - Robert Downey Jr. Okay, this seems weird now, but if you wanted a teenager who could pull off being handsome and sensitive and also be an off-beat weirdo, RDJ was your man.
Flash Thompson - William Zabka. This guy basically spent his entire career playing Flash Thompson.
Mary Jane Watson - Phoebe Cates. Did she ever play a redhead? Whatever, Phoebe Cates is great.
J. Jonah Jameson - Kevin McCarthy. Watch him in UHF - he's perfect.
Green Goblin - Michael McKean. He can do drama, he can do comedy, and he's kind of got a good goblin face.
Tinkerer - William Hickey. I just wanted to get William Hickey in here.
