Default Give me two terrible ideas to write a comicbook story on a fantasy world!

Hello. I am trying to write a story for a comicbook based on a fantasy world. According to Jim Butcher, his 6 book fantasy series CODEX ALERA, was based on a bet. Here is Butcher in his own words, and the link to his interview is below:

The bet was actually centered around writing craft discussions being held on the then-new Del Rey Online Writers’ Workshop, I believe. The issue at hand was central story concepts. One side of the argument claimed that a good enough central premise would make a great book, even if you were a lousy writer. The other side contended that the central concept was far less important than the execution of the story, and that the most overused central concept in the world could have life breathed into by a skilled writer.
It raged back and forth in an ALL CAPITAL LETTERS FLAMEWAR between a bunch of unpublished writers, and finally some guy dared me to put my money where my mouth was, by letting him give me a cheesy central story concept, which I would then use in an original novel. Me being an arrogant kid, I wrote him back saying, “Why don’t you give me TWO terrible ideas for a story, and I’ll use them BOTH. The core ideas he gave me were Lost Roman Legion and Pokémon… Thus was Alera formed.

So I would like you people to give me two terrible ideas, and I will attempt to do what Jim Butcher did. I'd like to write a comicbook story based on characters in a fantasy world. I agree with Butcher that the central concept is meaningless, and a skilled writer can a good story out of anything. Even something terrible...

I like this idea, and I agree with the philosophy behind it, so I'll bite. How about Sightings of the Loch Ness Monster and Inter-Planar Travel (a-la Dungeons and Dragons)?

Thank you! Those are two terrible ideas and that's a good thing.

The Loch Ness Monster masterminded the JFK assassination!

    Selfies and ninjas.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
