Default What are your favorite Wonder Woman villains?

There are alot of threads around focusing on specific villains and the like, but I was just curious what villains are peoples favorites, and why? Do you have a top five? Is there a specific storyline with them that draws you in?

I just think it would be interesting to see people bring up the topic of their favorite villains and let it turn into a discussion.

Personally im a fan of alot of the more Golden Age sort. Queen Sharkeeta, Tigra Tropica, Vulture King, Hypnota, Blue Snowman, Nifty Ator, Queen Flamina, Badra, the Earl of Greed...

My personal favorites have always been:

Cheetah - I used to watch Super Friends reruns in the 90's with my father (who grew up watching them, so we sorta bonded over it), but my favorite hero-villain coupling was always Wonder Woman and Cheetah. So I guess I started loving her for nostalgia, and now I love her because she's just a great character. The Golden Age and Rebirth versions are my personal favorite depictions of Cheetah.

Blue Snowman - I didn't really become a hardcore Wonder Woman fan (in terms of the comics) until the mid 2000's, but I had always known of Blue Snowman from whatever sites had information about WW's rogues. Her concept was so bizarre and unconventional that I couldn't help but be drawn to her, and I get super excited every time she pops up in the comics.

Queen Clea - Phil Jimenez's Skartaris story really made me love the character. There's so much untapped potential with the character and her interactions with Diana or the Amazons, it's a shame she's so sparsely used.

I'm not sure who I'd add if I had to round out a top 5. Those three are my core favorites, but I love the majority of her villains.

    1. Definitely the Cheetah. I love her almost as much as the Joker and Lex for the potential she has, which is sadly wasted most of the time. That seems to be finally on the mend though. I love Rucka's Rebirth version the most which is finally the most interesting version of the character and a solid foundation for ongoing stories, and I also love Marston's Priscilla Rich, especially Alex Ross's depiction of her.
2-3. Either Circe or Rebirth Veronica Cale. It's hard to peg down. Much like Cheetah I love Circe for her potential than what we actually get most of the time, but she may have it even worse. Veronica I disliked the first time around, but I love her Rebirth version, and she has what Circe frequently lacks: a solid motivation.
    4. Dr. Psycho
    5. Medusa or Rebirth Dr. Cyber

I love her Golden Age villains above all though and want to see them used more, particularly the classic Villainy Inc members.

Gudra/Gundra the Valkyrie: I mean, the DC Valkyrie leader vs Wonder Woman! Who wouldn't want to see that?

Superwoman: Wonder Woman's evil E-3 counterpart!

Nubia/Nu'Bia: Wonder Woman's sister who should start as foe and end as friend/sister.

    Giganta: long-time gigantic feral foe!

    Ursa/Faora: Kryptonian vs Amazon!

WW has a great roster of villains that if DC and writers put time and effort into developing could be as strong of a rogues gallery as Superman and Flash have.

    Cheetah
    Ares
    Doctor Psycho
    Doctor Cyber
    Doctor Poison
    Circe
The Silver Swan (the original, Helen Alexandros)
    Paula Von Gunther
    The Angle Man
    Giganta

And I will always be a champion for Doctor Domino! (WW #205, 1973)
He’s a ridiculous, almost ‘60s Bat-villain-type that would provide some much-needed deviation from all the mythological, Olympian gods and goddesses every once in a while.

For me it’s villainy inc. I think it should work as a sisterhood. They are the mirror version of the amazons . Loyal to each other but everyone else fair game.

    so many options...

For some reason I have a fondness for Kryptonians and mythology based villains.

Out of curiosity what do you think of 'Badra the Meteor girl' and her whole Superman parallels?

not a character I'm familiar with and the wiki doesn't have much beyond a picture of her flying. :/

    Really? Huh.
Shes an alien from planet Hator, a world populated by people with the power to fly through the air at supersonic speeds with a degree of invulnerability attached. (Think Cannonball from the X-men)
The planet was a world where 'love and peace were eradicated' with everyone acting solely out of self interest and greed. With the world divided between two empires Devestata and Wickeda.
Queen Wickeda of the empire of Wickeda was bloodthirsty and would kill without a thought, gleefully torturing people for fun. Making a point to kill her generals should they take to long to win a battle. Badra was her daughter and would regularly be beaten and starved, trained to hate and fight so that she may one day successfully assassinate her mother and take the throne as every Queen in the past had done, with Badra regularly trying and failing, being defeated, shot/stabbed and tossed back into her room until she tried again.

Devestata was losing the war so they created a 'Hatorian cosmic bomb' with the goal being to destroy the 2/3rds of the planet which the Wickeda empire occupied. They screwed up though and blew up the planet while Badra was nursing her wounds in the royal impenetrable safe room which surviving the explosion, hurtled through space having placed its occupant into suspended animation until a five year old Badra wound up on Earth.

Being found by some Earthlings she killed them, taking along a laser pistol and a knife as she flew to the nearest city and grew up amongst criminals, becoming 'the last daughter of Hator'

Well, that is rather unique yeah. Bit of a complicated idea, but when you want to create a character who is a messed up person on multiple levels, that's one way to do it.

The real fun with Badra though is her whole 'flying like a comet at light speed' thing which made her so fast that she gave Wonder Woman trouble and the ability to destroy anything simply bu plowing into it combined with having a flipping gun that shoots lasers.
