Default What Would You Like From/In a Thor film or character, But Never Get?

I hear that Thor isn't copyrighted but the MARVEL version is.
What off Norse THOR (not MARVEL) would you like to see on screen?

Honestly, in the sagas Odin and Loki are more interesting than Thor (though he is fun, but more in a supporting role). I'd like to see a high-budget miniseries based on the Norse myths.

Which in particular? Are they any that have similar if not more powerful abilities than Thor?

The Norse myths have a beginning, starting with the creation of the 9 worlds, and ending with their destruction in Ragnarok. I'd like all those tales told.

Odin and Loki are more interesting than Thor because they are smarter and have more depth. That's not to say that Thor isn't cool in his own way, but the smarter and more resourceful the hero, the more interesting, imo.

Have you not read any of the Norse myths?

I really liked the way they handled them in the new God of War game as far as taking a different approach. There the Norse gods are all kind of assholes with Odin being the worst of the bunch

I'd like to see an adaptation of Sandman, where Loki and Odin played significant roles. Thor was in it too, but as a big, dumb lug.

Unless somebody else does something completely original & satisfying with Thor that makes Marvel's Thor inferior...I don't see it.

As far as I know there is some question as to the validity of the Norse myths. It has been argued that a lot of the reason Thor comes across as dumb is because it was Christians interpreting the myths and they deliberately made the gods of old look "silly" compared to their "sophisticated" Christianity.

"Snorri Sturluson, who publicized most of the Norse myths was of course a christian, and so were most of the individuals who transmitted originally Pagan knowledge into christian times (chiefly in Iceland and Norway).

Snorri himself essentially made up a lot of things. His ideas of light and dark elves for example is 100% christian and has nothing to do with actual mythology. He also believed the Gods to have been humans descendants of Adam and Eve so that's more christianity for ye."
