Wasn’t the plague of Marvel superheroes wearing vests (with pouches) during the 90’s?
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
Copycats are just as bad now as ever.
The jackets and armor stuff is still here. It seems like almost all costumes are now tactical gear.
Bad Superhero movies are still alive and well. Just check out the DC cinematic universe.
Thank god we got away from lateness and horrible makeovers.
The Gypsies had no home. The Doors had no bass.
Does our reality determine our fiction or does our fiction determine our reality?
Whenever the question comes up about who some mysterious person is or who is behind something the answer will always be Frank Stallone.
"This isn't a locking the barn doors after the horses ran way situation this is a burn the barn down after the horses ran away situation."
I'd argue that none of these trends have actually gone away, it's just that it's less noticeable now or that these tropes are actually kind of good in the right context.
The Jacket is just something that makes sense because it's a practical piece of clothing.
Pouches are genuinely useful in storing items when lacking pockets.
Bad anatomy is useful when designing villains or monster-like characters. The Hulk should not be pretty or just a big green guy.
Extreme is just visual shorthand. It even works in Ghost Rider's case with Vengeance. Religious monsters are kind of freaking insane when you get right down to it (Frost giants, serpents, Jesus, and shit that came out of real-world art pieces). Ghost Rider arguably benefits from that.
Clones are a good story telling device. It's just when the marketing team gets involved that Marvel developed an even bigger problem than bringing Ben Reilly back in the first place.
I'm just saying that they haven't gone away, it's just that some actually work.
However the open face mask never works if it isn't some tech-suit thing.

For anyone that needs to know why OMD is awful please search the internet for Linkara' s video's specifically his One more day review or his One more day Analysis.
All those costume trends are entirely character specific. It’s when they try and apply that trend to characters who have the complete opposite appeal is when they get in trouble.

Xtreme and Kewl!
Rest In Torment. You were horrible influences.
Clones and Knockoffs are a 90's thing?!? HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Tell that to all the Wolverine, Hulk, and Spider Man knock offs running around now. It is so much worse now with multiple versions than it was in the 90's when there might be 1 knock off running around. Marvel is probably 25% knock of characters these days.
Every single one is wrong wrong wrong WRONG!
Um... if anything, Clones have become mainstream.
Lateness? Still there. We just don't complain about it anymore.
Pouches? Check.
Big guns? Maybe that raccoon got them all?
Armour is everywhere.
Jackets are common.
Bare-faced masks? Jean is still doing it!!!! And Havok.
Extreme is more extreme.
Bad artists with their bad anatomy come and go.
Same with horrible makeovers.
Pretty much everything Bendis was doing on Avengers was copycat. And Aaron is continuing the tradition-- 1000000BC Avengers?! Good grief!
Some companies are still doing the swimsuit issues... Zenescope and the like.
Sexualization is still happening... as if that's a bad thing.
All covers are gimmicks. If anything, it's worse today than ever.

Legacy heroes? Still happening today except its more focused on adding diversity.
Every day is a gift, not a given right.
Consistent creative teams. Action driven stories.
