Wasn’t the plague of Marvel superheroes wearing vests (with pouches) during the 90’s?

Copycats are just as bad now as ever.

The jackets and armor stuff is still here. It seems like almost all costumes are now tactical gear.

Bad Superhero movies are still alive and well. Just check out the DC cinematic universe.

Thank god we got away from lateness and horrible makeovers.

I'd argue that none of these trends have actually gone away, it's just that it's less noticeable now or that these tropes are actually kind of good in the right context.

The Jacket is just something that makes sense because it's a practical piece of clothing.
Pouches are genuinely useful in storing items when lacking pockets.
Bad anatomy is useful when designing villains or monster-like characters. The Hulk should not be pretty or just a big green guy.
Extreme is just visual shorthand. It even works in Ghost Rider's case with Vengeance. Religious monsters are kind of freaking insane when you get right down to it (Frost giants, serpents, Jesus, and **** that came out of real-world art pieces). Ghost Rider arguably benefits from that.
Clones are a good story telling device. It's just when the marketing team gets involved that Marvel developed an even bigger problem than bringing Ben Reilly back in the first place.

I'm just saying that they haven't gone away, it's just that some actually work.

However the open face mask never works if it isn't some tech-suit thing.

All those costume trends are entirely character specific. It’s when they try and apply that trend to characters who have the complete opposite appeal is when they get in trouble.

Extreme still happens today. How many people say, "That show is good cause it is "gritty."
Horrible makeovers, are we already blocking out Hydra Cap?
I think art is better than writing is still around.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Ah, i certainly agree with the "pouches and ridiculous big guns" part.

Funnily enough i'm kinda a Cable fan, which was the living embodiment of those two trends lol.

Invisible Woman has force fields so she can wear anything she wants and she doesn't need armor. But Mockingbird is a normal human who is only skilled in hand-to-hand combat, so she shouldn't wear baggy sleeves and also should not bare her legs. What if someone can cut her with a bladed weapon? Baggy sleeves are also hardly suitable for combat.
That is partly off-topic as Mockingbird's baggy sleeves go back to the 80s. Also, baggy sleeves are great for storing snacks, and fighting evil makes a lady hungry.
