Default What do you want Claremont to work on next?

I thought I'd create a separate thread for this rather than hijacking the Uncanny X-Men Disassembled one.

So it all started with a quote from Marvel's Editor-in-chief CB Cebulski (via Word Balloon as reported by Bleeding Cool)

"With Chris, we will be seeing more from Chris in the X-Men Universe in the near future", Cebulski confirmed. "I grew up on those stories, I love Chris, and he has a lot of things he still wants to say with those characters. We are gonna let him tell more tales very soon".
There you have it, straight from the horse's mouth. It's not a matter of "if", but rather of "when" and, most importantly, of WHAT. For what is it that Claremont will be working on? What would your choice be? A brief explanation of the options in the poll:

    - Solo writer of a core X-Men book means Claremont taking over, say, Uncanny X-Men as the only writer, akin to his "New Age" run.
    - The second option is Claremont being part of a rotation of regular writers should Marvel decide to continue with a weekly Uncanny X-Men, much like Rosenberg, Thompson and Brisson are doing now.
    - A satellite book is, for example, a New Mutants book or Excalibur.
    - A solo book ie Nightcrawler.
    - A disconnected/out of continuity book like New Exiles/X-Men Forever.
    - Feel free to vote for "Other" and explain what your choice would be, the only rule is that it has to be an X-book as Cebulski already confirmed that's the case.

Personally I think Claremont would do great working with another couple of writers on a weekly Uncanny. It's the one thing he hasn't really done before and I'd be quite eager to see how his storytelling sensibilities mesh with those of other writers. Alternatively, a grown-up New Mutants book from him would be a no-brainer, or perhaps something left-field like a Magneto/Brotherhood title.

You should've put in a 'nothing' option.

    From these, I choose AU.

That would have been irrelevant as it's already been confirmed he's going to be working on something :P

You asked "What do you want Claremont to work on." So it's still a valid opinion. :-P

I think his time in a core X-book passed a long ago, although I also think Claremont is still undoubtedly the heart and spirit, the 'canonical canon' of mutants.

That said, he might do a good job in a satellite book where he's got more freedom and less pressure. Actually 'The New Mutants' and 'Excalibur' are, IMO, his top.

A solo book could be fine, but it's much more hazardous. From his recent works, for example, I loved 'Mechanix', but 'Nightcrawler' was kind of disappointing.

So, I voted the third option.

    X-Men novels. He's underrated as a novelist.

Nothing. He made the X-men the juggernaut they are today but i feel he already gave everything he could to the x-men.
