    Well,
    1.) He's a big name that supposedly brings in $'s to projects he's involved with
    2.) He took over both Action Comics and Superman after Action Comics #1000, so that made sense
    3.) He is writing a continuing Batman story in the Batman comic book that's current sold exclusively at Walmart, so he has ties to that franchise as well.

    Whether you like his writing or not, it does unfortunately make sense to include him for both #1000 issues.

    Whilst I dislike his writing my irritation is that he's not earnt it frankly and his sales reflect that.

    Are we also going to see a huge event for Detective 1026 as well?

    And it would be nice to have some little bit of non-Bat content in 'Tec 1000 issue as well.

    How so?

    The numbers for Action Comics and Superman from Diamond's Top 300 lists for the past three months are:
    - October 2018 =
    * 15th = Superman #4 - 67,197 copies
    * 19th = Action Comics #1004 - 60,420 copies

    - September 2018 =
    * 16th = Superman #3 - 67,405 copies
    * 22nd = Action Comics #1003 - 57,865 copies

    - August 2018 =
    * 8th = Superman #2 - 77,464 copies
    * 17th = Action Comics #1002 - 61,916 copies

    To be fair, Superman #4 and Action Comics #1004 have foil covers. We know the foil covers help the sales, so the sales for October should be smaller.

    In fact, Superman and Action Comics still sell good, but its sales are falling. So, it doesn't seem Bendis is really helping the sales so much.

    I do also think that Bendis being on this is really weird. Action made sense because he was going to be taking over, and I think it was offered to him as a boon for leaving Marvel. (In an interview, even he was like "what they're giving this to me that's crazy") But I don't think the Walmart book really qualifies him for this. The connection is so tenuous, he's only there for his name.

    That said, as much as I hate what he's doing with Superman, I don't have a problem with him on this issue really and I'm probably going to enjoy his story. I just think it's weird that he was invited to this big party for Bat creators.
