Default Are there any female super-scientists in the DCU

Are there any female superheroes/supervillians out there for whom being a scientitst/inventor is a main part of their schtick?

Seems like there's oodles of guy mad-scientists and guy wonder-makers. Ultra-Humanite. Mr. Terrific. Robot Man. Steel. Cyborg. Starman. Luthor. Brainiac 5. The Atom. The list seems endless, but always...guys.

I'm not talking about characters that use technology they got from somebody else, like Stargirl. Or even characters that know how to tinker with technology they got from somebody else, like Skyrocket. I mean ladies whose power is essentially creating gizmos that qualify as superpowers.

The closest that I can think of is Dr. Cyber. Others?

    Barbara Gordon

Edit post: Forgot about Kimiyo Hoshi and Pamela Isley. There was also the Stormy Knight version of Phantom Lady.

Challengers: June (Walker) Robbins (The Original, so of course current DC editorial and most fans are completely ignorant of her)
Greatest authority in robotics" developed DCU's first AI, computer scientist, statistician, and archaeologist.

    Bumblebee: Karen Beecher
Completely self made heroine, computer expert, physicist, engineer, designed, all her own tech and weaponry.

    Kimiyo Hoshi

    DCAU: Roxanne (Rocky) Ballantine

CWVerse: Lena Luthor. /Alexandra Luthor/Alexis Luthor

    Nura Nal - Dream Girl

    Let's me think...

    Kitty Faulkner (Rampage)

    Nura Nal aka Dream Girl.

In pre crisis times there was Black Flame.

    Also Blackstarr.

Brainiac 4 from the ZH Legion.

    Bumblebee in her original incarnation.

You can count the upgrade on Natasha Irons.

    Dr. Poison.

    Dr.Omen

    Dr. Light (Hoshi)

    Veronica Cale

But you are right. The list seems short.

I thought about Batgirl, and disqualified her as a tech user rather than a tech maker, but her Oracle incarnation probably counts.

There should definitely be some among the Amazons.

If Superman is a super scientist, Supergirl should be too.

Even before The Amazons were sent back to The Bronze Age, it seemed like Paula Von Gunther was doing most of their cerebral heavy lifting. Now that I think of it, pre-Crisis Wonder Woman might have qualified, having invented The Purple Ray and all...

I remember this being a plot point in 52. The mad scientist island was all men and when it was initially announced that a woman was coming, they were mad. Then she showed up and was attractive and they tripped over each other trying to impress her.

It's always good to see true-to-life characterization.

Thing that got me was for an issue or two before that, the mad scientists were shown having bikini-clad babes catering to them. Then the issue where Veronica Cale arrives, those girls are nowhere in sight and the mad scientists are acting like they've never seen a girl before in their lives.
