There's Dr. Calvin, who was Mockingbird's mentor and the lead scientist of Project Gladiator, though she didn't appear again after that storyline was over. And then she was killed off-panel in 2015.

People who are actually scientists or engineers, whether formally trained or not, and have that attribute, as well as the gizmos they create, as a big part of their characters and abilities.

I mean that I see a lot of supporting characters on the lists, but not antagonists or protagonists where science, technology, and invention are central elements of their character.

I'd consider the women to be smarter, then. After all, when given a choice between designing super-science devices and selling them to steroided-out men or using them yourself, which is safer?

On a more serious and closer to the intent of the thread, there is a difference between genius and super-scientist. One may be a genius and not go into the sciences, although for superhero comics, this wouldn't seem to be a big selling point. I'd mention Susan Richards as a very intelligent woman who really hasn't been shown to be a scientist, although she obviously needs to use the devices. I'd also maintain that her intelligence is her biggest point of appeal for Reed who exists in a world where everybody and their sister is a super-model.

Also your right, I don't think any Females has reached the same egotistically footing as Iron Man, Reed, Dr Doom, Beast , Pym and Black Panther. Unfortunately I can't see they ever will, in the cinematic universe sure but in the comics where people don't age much or really retire, I can't see a women being added to the list.
Shuri is tricky because in her original incarnation (Hudlin years) she is a genius I her own field but not how mcu is portraying her. When she became Black panther she had her own Q and a team that made her tech for her, which seems to being retconned in favor of her MCU counter part. Which is good and bad. Good to add more female geniuses to the mix, but bad because they seem to be doing it at the expense of T'Challa somewhat losing his genius intellect (more prevalent in the MCU at the moment, though I understand it was to make Shuri unique and different from Tchalla)

How is Riri not the main character? Or Moon Girl?

Toxic Doxie and Monica Rappaccini are two memorable super-scientists in the villain stable.

And yet, Sue is also a super model, highly desired femme, total milf, etc., etc., by any standard. I've seen alternate Earth versions of her that seemed to be the scientist of the group, just not on mainstream 616. Dr. Susan Storm (Richards) has a nice ring to it. I wish they'd go there.

I think DrNewGod means that female super-scientists who are the primary protagonists (or major antagonists) in a Marvel Comics series are a relative minority, while there are a lot --- comparatively speaking --- that "merely" play supporting roles in the comics.

I've always found it weird that the FF are mainly a scientific team yet only one member does anything scientific. She doesn't have to (and in my opinion shouldn't) be a scientist, but definitely have her do something besides raising the kids. I also like the sound of Dr Susan Storm-Richards, but in the medical field.

When the FF get a film in the MCU they will definitely give Sue a career and it will likely be in a scientific field, I hope medicine. It will almost definitely affect the comic version, so Marvel can either give her a career now or retcon it in when the film comes out. Either way they aren't going to have her stay the way she is and I think doing it before the inevitable film is the best option. It's overdue.

I don’t think she was villain. Just more an antagonist since she was using them to find her sister.

Basically every character that I mention is written at most points like they are the smartest person in the room even when Reed and Stark are in the room they have some level of belief they are smartest. For intelligence to matter for a character they have to been seen by the smartest people in universe as smart and written that they believe they are as smart as Reed, Stark, Dr Doom basically they can be saying stuff like Adaemus Cho " I am the eight smartest person". Ego is huge for intelligent characters saying Moon Girl is the smartest is nice but stuff like Shuri in MCU correcting Banner and Iron Man work about Vision while being smug about it is better and then having the feats of inventing thing most of thing in movie backs it up.

Also They need to clarify specialites something like

Iron Man- electrical engineering and mechanical engineering
    Pym- biochemistry and nanotechnology
    Beast- biochemist and Genetics
    Banner-nuclear physics
    Reed- Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering.
    Tchalla Physics and advanced technology

Making Reed, Doom or Tony king at everything makes books boring and don't give other characters room to slide in the topic. For example Black Panther fans got mad that Shuri was shown as "smarter" than T'challa in the movies but if Shuri is shown as genius in Robotics, mechanical engineering and Mathematics and Tchalla is shown as genius in Physics,Tactical leadership, Combat, chemistry they both can be smart and genius. Reed or Dr Doom can be smart/genius in multiple areas but being a generalist should mean they are behind of others who are specialists. That leaves room for Toni Ho or Riri Williams to be BETTER than Stark in Robotics or Artificial intelligence. Or Nadia better than pym in nanotechnology or Valeria is better than Reed in Engineering.
