The Witcher is a popular series of polish novels and video games, and has recently gotten a lot more attention because of the success of the third game in the series; and a Netflix series is being developed. Basically, it tells the story of Geralt, a trained monster hunter who gets caught up in the politics, wars, and ultimate fate of his world.
Now Henry cavill has been cast in the lead role as Geralt, the series's main character.

Some of Cavill's earlier roles (Tudors, Count of Monte Cristo etc.) sort of dealt with the late medieval/renaissance setting that's kind of similar to Witcher, maybe?

Cavill’s more conventionally good looking than I would have imagined for Geralt. I would have seen him more as Vilgefortz, say.... but there we are.

witcher could be a smash hit. lot of spicey ingredients, rich world, shitload of characters...
i wonder which characters will have their ethnicities change for the diversity quota.

Cavill's definitely got the jaw down at least. I'm sure they'll probably dye his hair white and makeup the scars.
