- Carol and Ezekiel are now married and have been awhile. They have raised Henry as a son. She hates being called The Queen . Henry is pushing to get out and live. He wants to go to Hilltop for tools. A fact Ezekiel is scared but Carol convinces him to let him go as any young man should.


- Aaron rocks a metal hand now.


- Magna's group arrives and we are introduced to them. One is deaf as we see. This deaf lady is a journalist. Magna waited tables and claims she's now a fighter.


- Michonne during the Council meeting exposes Magna's lie and her being an actual ex-prisoner as she has prison tattoos and is hiding a knife in her pants. She walks out before the vote leaving them to decide Magna's group vote.


- Gabriel and Rosita are now a couple ! A fact that unlike Eugene in comics who tried making contact out Alexandria...its Gabriel in the show.


- They have converted seats from a car into a horse wagon comically. Rosita and Eugene decide to not tell Michonne about the new plan they have for helping Gabriel's radio signal.


- The Sanctuary is gone. It went bust and the male ******* is leader with his group of assholes. They ambush Carol and Henry taking their wagon and her ring.


- Carol at 1st convinces Henry that he'll understand when he gets older on why she gave up things. Once Henry sleeps....Carol tracks down the ******* group left....and sets them on fire like the bad ass she is ! Yes she literally sets them all on fire !



- Its revealed Michonne has had Rick's child in that span. Magna goes to ambush her but sees the kid and stops. Turning over the weapon as Judith had armed herself with her dad's gun. A fact Michonne is surprised she has it.


- Judith reveals a sad fact....as she gets older she is forgetting what her dad and brother sounded like. That their voices are slipping away slowly.


- Michonne decides to let Magna's group be led to Hilltop where they can stay since she knows the leader. She will escort them and vouch for them there.

Interesting stuff, not disliking anything I'm reading thus far. With all I'm seeing at this point they have to let Rick survive even the movies so the possibility exists at a powerful reunion when they begin to wrap up the show. I think Lincoln would be down for that.

I think Daryl is going to have been virtually unseen for six years. To the point where only Carol can ever find him and even then its difficult if he doesn't want to be found even by her. Total hermit. She respects this all this time, but when the Whisperers hit the communities, the atrocities they commit and the hits they take causes her to decide that he needs to come back. That they need his skills, that they need the respect his now legendary reputation would command to reinvigorate morale to a society that has taken it on the chin in a way not since Negan himself. That built up mystique to him will really propel him in the aim to make him the "new" Rick.

(Haven't seen the new episode yet, so if already proven right or wrong that just is on account of my 11th hour musings).

I thought it was a good episode, of course their was a guy on twitter saying he's not going to finish the season because of the talking walkers. But of course I feel that once he find out what's going on here he probably still wouldn't like it. There was another dude saying he wasn't going to watch it anymore because of the new characters he don't feel like getting to know. All in all I still think that this has been a good season so far. But I worry about the backlash the brutal death of Glenn had on the show. Is we going to get that fence post scene in the future?

How much Daryl is just a straight up unabashed cop of John Rambo out in the woods in the film First Blood is kind of a hoot.

Well in the 2 assholes defense (the main guy and woman) they hadn't really known what Carol was capable of. They never realized she was a stone cold killer when it came to it.

So one theory coming forward is the Rick Grimes 2-3 TV movies will in fact reveal what happened to Heath finally. As one article pointed out , Jadis was seen driving an RV that looked an awful like the one Heath disappeared with 2+ years ago. Heath will be found in this new community and reveal what Jadis did by trading him to them.

Looks like Carol's back to her old habits. I think this pretty much leaves Eugene, Dwight and Negan as the only remaining survivors of the Savior council. Regina was always kind of weird I think, she just kind of popped up in season 8 as one of the lead Saviors without any prior introduction.

Anyone else think something is up with RJ? Something seems...off. Like, I know Magna allegedly sees him when looking through the glass door, but it seems odd no one has mentioned him or been seen with him except Michonne. Magna doesn't even mention him when turning over the necklace, or afterwards.

In fact, the whole scene is a little odd. Magna apparently sees him. She knocks on Michonne's door. Give her the necklace, and doesn't mention him. There's also no noise from him either. Then Judith is on the steps. Also never mentions RJ. Again, still no noise from RJ. Then Judith goes upstairs and >boom< there's RJ again, talking and laughing.

Then, again, NO ONE ELSE ever mentions him, even Magna at ANY point in the episode. We never even really get a clear shot of him.

I can't explain the Magna part, but aside from that, I'm getting a very "Rick getting phone calls at the prison" feeling about RJ. Something weird is up.

Hmmm...could be. Michonne has technically already lost two sons-Andre (Who was just brought up again for the first time in a long while when Michionne talked to Negan)....and Carl, who was a sort of step-son in a sense.

I don't need to see a rehash of crazy Rick with phone calls and visions of Lori...I assumed the kid was real but you make a good point and I did think it was odd how all the sudden the kid just shows up but nobody mentions him. When it first showed him thru the window I was like WTF?

I first thought it was Herschel, visiting. But when I got a closer look, I could see the kid was Black/white bi-racial rather than Asian/white bi-racial.

Thinking back to the bridge explosion scene, I couldn't help but wonder about what memes could come from this. Walkers. Dynamite. Jimmy Walker ~~~~~~~ DYNOMITE!

Thinking of some things from this episode....

- Enid is now 2nd in command of the Hilltop and the new leader is Jesus. Who as we see really wants someone else to do the job and hopes Maggie will return. As he won't use her office.


- Daryl has a DOG ! He also has started living off in the woods a lot more . Which seems like a step back towards that sad , angry young man he was when we 1st met him with Rick. Carol appeals to him to travel with them. Knowing he needs to be around humanity and something happened where Carol seemed to move to Kingdom and Daryl didn't like that.



- We have a newer , younger version of Rick it appears with someone who has good hair , beard and carries a machete. It almost is insane that this character appears with Michonne's group taking them to Hilltop.



- In the comics its Rick who takes Carl to Hilltop to apprentice at Earl Sutton's ...in this its Henry who has grew up with Carol taking him !


- Daryl has been going out because he's carrying guilt over Rick's death. A fact he tells Carol he's looked for the body and they never have found it ! Carol tries to get him past this.



- Comically Aaron and Jesus do their own Inspector Clouseau and Cato where its revealed that they meet for training.


- Henry and Daryl have a very Merle/Daryl type relationship as they meet up. Daryl now being the older angry brother type as Henry helps save him from a sneak attack from a walker.


- On his back...Daryl has the same X scar that Michonne has on her back. This is becoming a bit of a question mark. Something happened....during the 6 years it appears. (We will likely get that story at some point)



- Henry brings up what we already know to Daryl ....Carol views him as a son. That he is causing her to worry about him .


- Michonne destroys the 17th century Violin that one of Magna's group had by accident. Its revealed he's been carrying old instruments with him during the trip. As he brings up that humanity needs this to remember what they come from.



- Michonne doesn't want to face Maggie due to the whole situation. Its revealed she has left to her shock. Before the doctor can reveal what happened with her and Hershel...a herd arrives !


- Magna's group for the most part are skilled fighters...except for the chief and music lover. He's like Eugene from years ago. Magna finds her boyfriend who died in the attack earlier by the herd. Its pretty sad....



- Henry basically wants to impress Enid as we now realize why he's coming to Hilltop to learn. As he brings up he's taller and bigger since her last time. Carol seems to realize this and teases him..."Your adorable..."


- Daryl and Jesus decide to go out . Leaving Tara to run things..."DOG....." and they take off to go find Eugene. (I gotta admit I love Daryl and his dog who he commands)

So on Talking Dead it was told that this was the 1st ever TV show that Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) directed this episode. He detailed that the funniest , hardest part of directing this episode was the Dog. As well...its a dog and will do what it wants at time. Even if its well trained.


Also comically they told Daryl they were getting him a dog for this show and the 1st time they bring this small collie type dog to him and he was like , no way would a dog like that survive and do this. So they had to go get a bigger dog.
