Yeah, Tien is a bit of tier or two above the others.

I mean, end of series Renji with his super power up reforged Bankai thing could likely take... I don't know... late Dragonball/Early DBZ Tien maybe?

The power curve in Bleach got real steep toward the end and Renji was a bit of beast.

But yeah, Tien in the current era? Nah, he's not going to notice Renji. Kuwabara wonders why he is even here.

Tien is a badass but if you are not named Goku or Vegeta Akira Toriyama doesn't care about you post Frieza and Cell . Too me DBZ hit it's peak when Gohan turned SSJ2 it's never been able to recover that amount for me since.

Bleach is heavily flawed but at least Kubo was willing to give others a chance to advance in big ways without being the main character.

Yu Yu Hakusho is a gift to mankind in my book, great from start to finish.

pretty much. kuwabara has some good reactions but his overall speed is damn poor. at least poorer than everyone else on the team.

and bleach is lousy with peeps with superspeed, renji being one of them.

Renji isn't just faster than Kuwabara. He's also stronger and more durable.

I thought YYH got worse towards the end of Sensui. Kuwabara got excluded from the last arc, the three kings.

The first appearance of Tien is the version that the other two contestants have a best chance against. Beyond the King Piccolo arc version of Tien it would be overkill.

it kind of made sense in that kuwabara wasn't really that deep into the spirit world stuff like everyone else. plus, he was a pure human so he kind of peaked as far as what he could do in battle after that point.

To be fair to Kuwabara his sword was rather broken, if Renji and Tien stood completely still and let him hit them it might be nasty. It's kind of like a souped up Kienzan, you don't want to be hit by it, but if you have any sort of reaction speed there's no chance it will.
