Seems to be like that in lots of media now. I remember hearing from bigger fans that most anime doesn't run that long anymore. Not more huge runs like Naruto, Bleach, and One-Piece, but mini adaptations that run for around 20 episodes.

If the quality is good, great. But I do miss when stories ran a bit longer & allowed for writers to really develop characters & stories. Plus continuity could be better for those characters because (hopefully) writers can keep up with their own stuff.

With all these relaunches & having characters jumping from book / writer to different book / writer every 6 months, it's damn near impossible to get lasting development because every writer seems to wanna do their own thing these days. Whatever is convenient for their story, they'll do. Never-mind the character(s) previous developments or stories. And really a huge case of editors not doing their jobs keeping writers in check. They'll just fanboy or girl over whatever a writer gives to them & not bother to check if it's appropriate or not.

Well, I’m stoked about X-Force and hope that it goes the distance. At least a 30 issue run would be nice.

But my fingers are crossed that Kid Cable only lasts through the first arc before Cable is restored, either he’s aged up or OG Cable returns somehow. Either way. Cable as a kid is almost as dumb as hot claws.

Brisson just did an interview with the Bota podcast and he admitted that he initially pitched Kid Cable as being much younger, like 9 years old but that obviously got nixxed

That was for the best. Chances are, he'd be another Gabby.

And we don't need another Gabby. I mean, she has her moment's of being pretty cool, but if she's still around, we don't need a duplicate.

For all the complaints about editorial, they still do some things right.

Baby Cable being 9 years old would contradict Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix screwing Cable's origin even more.

The gun being bigger than him is what really gets me

Did you guys see the variant covers for the first issue?

Both of them didn't include Boom Boom. I'm wondering if she isn't a full-time team member or if these artists just don't like her?
There is a Mike Mignola variant cover announced, that's the one I'm really excited for
