It's definitely a smart move to have Ahmed write this annual prior to his work on Miles at the end of the year.
He seems to know his stuff, and this will be the first real taste of "proper" Felicia in quite a while, even if it's set in happier times for her and Pete
I'm loving Garry Brown's art in this! I'm a sucker for mimicking old-school art styles.
I don't know whether this annual will make us feel bad for the Symbiote or make us understand why Peter had to get rid of it.
Maybe a bit of both...
Probably both, particularly given that when they separated for good, it was the symbiote choosing to save Peter's life despite Peter's rejection of it. It only really went bad when it bonded with Eddie Brock, and as Flash Thompson would demonstrate years later, a host that accepted the symbiote while not being overcome by its bloodlust could be an overwhelmingly positive influence on it.
The spider is always on the hunt.
