When Moana arrives at Maui's island she finds, well, a rather large human-like skeleton. And a pile of sea life eaten to the bone.
She also finds an old man and his son, named Boy.
"Are you Maui?" She asks.
"No."
"Do you know where Maui is?" she presses further.
"No. There is only me and the boy. Who are you?"
"I am Moana of Motunui. You will board my boat and restore the heart of Te Fiti."
The old man looks to his son. "Well, I guess we could help her in exchange for passage," he suggests.
"For once Boy, I have no objections." The old man replies, "Girl! Give us passage on your boat, and we shall restore this heart of yours."
"Well, that was easy," Moana mutters to herself while pushing her boat back into the water, the wind deafening her to the words exchanged higher up on the beach.
"Should we tell her what happened to Maui?" the boy asks of his father, who mutters his reply in a hushed, grim tone.
"I do not think that we should, boy. After all, we did not simply kill her god. We ate him as well..."
"That's true."
And with that, the trio set off to restore the Heart of Te Fiti.
How long can Moana's sanity hold out?
