There could be some different outcome as a result of this casting. Consider these:

1)Ororo/Storm was never someone Singer cared about, so casting Shipp may have been a result of an after-thought like "Oh yeah. We need a new Storm actress, don't we?" Hell, Singer cares so little, that he doesn't even bother with her real name in the movie "Storm, Scott, Jean..." LOL

2) Shipp doesn't have a lot on her resume, so she may be someone who could surprise the viewers

3) There may not be much of a role for her, so even if she was capable, she may not have much to work with. Kind of like Halle before The Last Stand, at which point Halle kind of lost all her creds

I am kinda in a state of indifference. Even with the "perfect" actress, I doubt Singer would do justice for the character of Storm.

I would love to be blown away and proven wrong with X-Men Apocalypses.
