1.I never said that Storm would be Mera. My initial post was a question asking based upon the premise if Storm can control water akin to how she controls air, can we conclude that Mera's control over water is better? Like Yoga pointed out, Storm has done things on atomic level Mera has not done. One could argue that since Storm has done things on an atomic level then she could have "better" control. Not saying I agree, but my initial point was posing a question not declaring that Storm was better.

2. Storm has created gale force torrents and giant tornadoes with water. That is what she essentially did in the scans I provided to lift the shifts. She hasn't dehydrated anyone of their water or made constructs out of water (which this isn't true - she did do this when fighting the Trion) but even though it hasn't been shown often if ever, her powers should still allow her to do this. She also shaped the water droplets in the clouds during the Xmen fight with deluge to (what I believe) to allow cyclops energy needed for his power.

1. Yes we can conclude Mera's water control is better than Storm. Because Storm cannot manipulate water in a fashion like constructs or taking water out of Tank etc. The ONLY thing Storm has demonstrated that Mera hasn't done is turning water into oxygen and that's pretty much it.

2. As of RIGHT NOW Storm hasn't actually demonstrated greater control like Mera. As I have posted of Mera's feat she is able to control LARGE Volumes of Water...Storm can't (or hasn't done so yet). Also just because Clouds are made of Water Storm will have to transmute that into a large mass of Water.

As I said earlier the ONLY thing that puts Storm very skilled in this department is her making water into air. That's good feat however, Mera has more feats Storm hasn't done or replicated. So 1 feat doesn't override Mera's 3-4 feats. (Make sense) lol

Some people take things too far on this forum but you always have great content. The cloud feat is one of my favorites because clouds are in fact so heavy. She molded them as easily as someone would a piece of clay. She is the "sculptress" after all.

After reading the discussions, I think Mera has better and more powerful control over water than Storm.

That doesn't negate the fact that Storm is adept at controlling water too. It's akin to Storm being a great and fast flyer, but she is not as fast as Silver Surfer at flying. That doesn't erase her being a great flyer, it's just that someone is better than her at that one aspect of her powers. It's the same with Mera and water.

In all honesty, on paper, I believe that Storm's powerset outdoes Mera's where water control is concerned, but Mera is written with water feats more consistently since that's about the only power she has. Ororo's ability to perceive water as energy and control it (in other words, controlling water is the same as controlling energy for Storm) coupled with her sub-atomic control over the elements and the MASSIVE feats where she controls VAST amounts of energy leads me to believe that Ororo should be able to control water better than this DC character.

I don't think we can deny that Storm doesn't have the same level of water feats that Mera does based upon what StormPhoenix posted; however, if we are to consider that any application she has done with her air powers (or any energy manipulation) should translate to her ability to control the water than I think Storm would give Mera a run for her money. I mean has Mera controlled water on a molecular level or has she controlled it on a global level? Storm has manipulated various forms of energy from atomic to global there is no reason to believe her control of water wouldn't fall under the same application.

I agree. Storms very powerful compared to most but I can also accept the fact that there are few who beat her in some cases.

While I believe Mera is more powerful than Storm when it comes to controlling water, she does have one limitation that I find odd.

She needs to be near water for her powers to work, she can't pull it from the atmosphere like Storm and Bobby....

Yes that is a massive downside. However, how come she just didn't dehydrate the Monkey??

Mera reminds me of the main character of a series I read a while ago. She could control the weather but only if there was "weather" at that time. For example if there was a blizzard her body would inherent the characteristics of that blizzard such as ice cold skin and being able to summon a portion of that blizzard into a small room or if there was a thunderstorm she could focus wind and lightning through her body however if it was a sunny day she'd be about as powerful as you or I.

I guess for the sake of a story it's a nice little limit but I do hope that one day Mera graduates to pulling moister out of the air. Maybe she could take some lessons from Katara and start pulling it from the trees and vegetation :P
