As a kid I could never get into him because I found him off-putting, but I later came to appreciate that was the piont.

Can we also forget about the New52 version in this thread, or does anybody object to that idea?

I love The Creeper! One of the most underrated and under used characters in the DCU. A Ditko creation who is a combination of The Joker and Spider-Man.

He also starred in one of my favorite Batman TAS episodes:

And yes, let’s forget that New 52 abomination ever existed.

I just found an old animated series action figure of the Creeper. No idea where his red mane is though. Love that design so much.

I've been slightly obsessed with the character lately and would really like to read his original run. His alter ego as a media personality and/or pundit is ripe for making a comeback now too.

I've been wanting to move him to Gotham or have him move to a new city I'm developing for Wonder Woman and use him as a supporting character...regardless I'd love to see his return in some capacity. He's interesting as the Creeper and in his dual identity as Jack Ryder.

Turning the Creeper into Freakazoid was genius.

My understanding though was that Steve Ditko meant for the Creeper to be more of a hard-boiled character rather than what he's been since the 80's ( the Joker as a good guy)?

I agree. Maybe even bring him back as a social media pundit. But he's got to have his own city though.
