    Thoughts:
    - No Batgirl? I hope it’s not cancelled, I’ve liked where it’s been going.
    - Looking forward to Batman & The Outsiders, Teen Titans & despite dropping Batman, I’ll definitely pick up Batman Annual #3.
    - Detective Comics looks fun as well! Hopefully Tec’ isn’t actually going to go monthly. Either way, I’m excited for Tomasi and another detective story. Plus, there’s a high chance Damian will show up in his run sometime.
    - A Jason & Kate team-up sounds fun!
    - Maybe Barbara can join the Outsiders if they’re going to cancel her book.
    - Nightwing doesn’t look terrible and if Lobell is the long term writer and Mooneyham is off of the book, I might pick it up in trade.

Edit: Apparently December 26th is a skip week and the books that normally ship that week (Batgirl, Heroes in Crisis, Silencer, Tec’, etc.) will ship January 2nd.

****, Lobdell is still on Nightwing. I was hoping he was just stuck writing those 3 post #50 issues because they were on short notice and needed someone to fill in. Him being on longer just sinks any hope that DC has a plan for the character post maiming him. What a continued let down.

Jason teaming up with Kate? That's different. Don't think the two ever really interacted much.
    Outsiders looks interesting.
Batgirl, from what I've seen, had been hovering pretty low for a while now. A shame if it was canceled though.
Bruce teaming up with Cobblepot? Right after Jason put a bullet in his eye?

You know, for Harley starting out in the Bat family (as a villain, but still), she really doesn't have much interactions with them in her own series. Would figure she would team up with Jason or something.

The theme of this story sounds the same as the last solicits too. No one seems like they have any clue what to do with this. This has already been a turd year for Nightwing, doesn't look like 2019 is gonna be any better.

It all makes no sense. Like I don't see the point. At the end of this he is right back in Bludhaven doing the exact same thing he was doing before being shot in the head just a few issues prior. They aren't moving him somewhere else to a new setting, not putting a unique, or even young and hungry, creative team with some different vision for the character on it, and even Tom King and Batman have moved on from it too.

It is like they are trying to do some big existential crisis about Dick questioning being a hero after getting shot, but he is the wrong character to do that with because being a hero is more of a passion than a burden for him and he has no life beyond being a hero by choice. It isn't like in that recent Snyder Batman story where Alfred thought Bruce should live a normal life after losing his memories because of the severe burden of being Batman takes on him, but it feels like that is what they are going for. Even down to other people taking up his Nightwing identity to protect Bludhaven.

Might make a longer post about this in the appreciation thread, but man, it looks so unappealing right now.

I think they wanted a headline for Nightwing 50 and beyond, which I get, but the people behind Nightwing right now clearly struggle to manage the basic things about putting together a book and so yet again are struggling to put this together.

The management on the character just seems really bad. Hard to even really give an opinion on the direction, or what it could be, when the bigger issue to me is how hard it seems for the people behind the character to even try and put anything together.

They just wanted to do something shocking for Batman #55 and don't care enough about the Nightwing title to properly set anything up. Same thing happened with Forever Evil and Higgins Chicago arc. Clearly Percy got pissed they sidelined his story and walked and DC seems to be doing some by the numbers fallout issues. So basically we are stuck with what would have been the Tynion Nightwing equivalent they were planning before Grayson happened this time.

There is just no plan. It is telling how they just slapped Lobdell on the book and didn't do some bs interview about Lobdell saying he is excited for this "new direction" with some lies about "how Dick Grayson has always been one of my favorite characters" to try and smooth this mess over, haha.
