I can't seem to find an appreciation thread for the good doctor so time to make one. About time, here's a place to talk about your deepest fears and celebrate Jonathan Crane, The Scarecrow.

Finally, I'm a big fan of Dr. Crane. The concept behind Scarecrow is such an utterly terrifying one. A villain who gets his jollies by spreading fear and using it to experiment on others for his own morbid intellectual curiosity. It gives me chills.

Scarecrow is actually my favorite Batman villain. The general concept of taking one of Batman's greatest weapons and turning it against him is genius and the visual design of a moving scarecrow is always amazing.
I'm on a playthrough of the Arkham games again and man I love the Scarecrow sections. So glad he was the big bad in Knight.

You know, I always forgot about how Crane was under the mask of TNBA's design... these are from children's books

For some reason no one seems to make him click, Arkham Asylum excluded. I wonder why.

Well, I haven't been impressed by his Pre Flashpoint stories either tbh.
And I think its incorrect to say that he's not used. He's been used a lot since Flashpoint in a main villain/lead role capacity.
