Default Ideas DC should "borrow" from Marvel (and Vice versa)

Now that Bendis is over at DC howabout a story where the 1980 Titans are brought into today's world like they did with the 60's X-MEN?

A pre-nightwing Dick Grayson would be in for a few surprises!

Over at Marvel they could borrow from Doomsday Clock and have Miracleman poking around the MU....

    and YOUR ideas?

They should bring back the Epic Line for creators and do a wider variety of genres in their main line.

Yeah, that's a Robin who didn't yet have any legacies. Cyborg would be in for a shock too, as New 52/current Cyborg was never a Titan, and has instead been a Justice Leaguer ever since he got his powers.

Marvel established the Icon imprint ten years ago to do this very thing. It would be nice if Marvel can dust it off.

they could use a 'nightwing' character. I nominate Dwayne Taylor.

I would like to see Marvel do it's own version of a Vertigo line.

They had them. Icon for creator owned (it did books like Powers before Bendis moved to DC and set up the Jinxworld imprint), and Max for Marvel characters (such as Jessica Jones's Alias series, and Punisher). Both dormant now though.

Makes sense. Night Thrasher was always a Batman analogue. He's what Bruce would be if he was a black 90s teenager.

DC ought to have equivalent of Marvel Unlimited.

DC Universe is that, isn't it? The comics part of it is a much inferior product though, but that's partly because it only just launched.

    I’m not completely sure.

It certainly seems reasonable to believe that long term plan is to build comics part into a Marvel Unlimited equivalent.

But..on other hand..I have seen “fan guesses” that intention is to keep relatively few comics available..the ones DC want to push for whatever reason and that whenever a new batch go in, some other comics will be removed. (Meaning that only relatively few comics would be available at any one time.)

But not seen any official statement on long term plans. (They may well be “out there”, but I’ve not made a “determined” search for them.)

DC could work on an Ultimate Universe of their own, which is ideally what the New 52 should have been - particularly some of the more radical changes like the New 52 Superman.

Marvel could learn from DC when it comes to consolidating the various 'generations' of superheroes. So DC has the Justice League gen, the Titans gen, the Young Justice gen, the current Teen Titans gen etc.

With Marvel it is a little more complicated. And obviously, with franchises like the X-men you kinda already had this delienation to an extent with the X-men, New Mutants etc.

Complicated is right. 90s had New Warriors, 2000s had Young Avengers, and 2010s has Champions. But there's overlap. Amadeus Cho was actually on an Avengers team with Cassie Lang, and he's older than her too - the two teams would potentially be recruiting from the same pool of characters. Sam Alexander, of course, was actually on a 2010s New Warriors roster before the Champions existed (he actually left the NW to join the Avengers).
