Default Weekly Image poll #38 - Burnouts for goblins & Beowulf

We're back again, Wednesday warriors! Vote for your faves or just chat about stuff.

At time of writing, the poll of last week was won by Mage, The Hero Denied! That's the second win for the series, three months after its first one.

We've got another big week for Image fans looks like: Wanted is returning to print, Aphrodite V is revealing some secrets, Bonehead ends its first (?) storyline, Curse Words begins a new storyline, while Crude ends one. Death or Glory is also done with arc 1, Farmhand is sending its second issue back for reprints too after both issues so far sold out, Gideon Falls releases the 'director's cut' of its first issue in black & white with the script added in.
Hack/Slash Resurrection and Hit-Girl are done with their current arcs, while Kick Ass begins a new one (double whammy for Millarworld fans this week). Skyward also starts a new storyline, and Ice Cream Man does another one-shot issue this week, should be good for newcomers.

We've also got a lot of new stuff coming out:
    1. Burnouts is the new series by Dennis Culfer & Geoffo. This one's about high schoolers fighting off an alien invasion, BUT the aliens are only visible to... people who are profoundly wasted! My teacher never believed me either when I sold cheapo wine from my locker and claimed it was for extraterrestrial purposes only.

    2. Beowulf is exactly what it says on the cover. A graphic retelling of the Beowulf story done by Santiago Garcia and David Rubin. It's not a revisionist take, though it does have some modern touches.

    3. The Hchom Book is a collection of comics, drawings, essays, and more from Marian Churchland (Beast, Arclight, From Under Mountains, Elephantmen) and will likely feature many goblins - as those are prevalent on her website, the Hchom blog.

I voted for Savage Dragon which was another great issue. My #2 pick would've been Aphrodite, is anyone else reading this? You have to see the art inside, it is so cool.

I'm not, but who does the art for it nowadays? Aphrodite IX had Sejic on art for a while and it was just breathtaking stuff. There's a Free Comic Book Day issue featuring a dragon and the amount of time that must've gone into detailing those scales was probably days of works.

Reading this week's OP, I missed a mention of Days of Hate, 8, which continues its depiction of our very-near political-future from the point of view of the resistance.
It got my vote, 'cause voting's still an option, at least here.
Age/Bronze, Age/Reptiles, Alex&Ada, Anne Bonnie, Astro City, Bone, Briggs Land, Cerebus, Criminal, Courtney Crumrin, Eleanor & the Egret, Fables, Fatale, Fell, Grass Kings, Green Valley, Goon, Gotham Midnight, Groo, Hellboy, Hillbilly, Incognegro, Jack Staff, JL8, Jonah Hex, Kane, Lazarus, Little Nemo, Lone Wolf, Next Wave, Popeye, Powers, Princess Ugg, Resident Alien, SiP, Squirrel Girl, Stray Bullets, 10G, Thief of Thieves, Tuki, Uncle Scrooge, Usagi, Velvet

Didn't know they had a landmark issue out this week, sorry! Unfortunately I'm not reading it, I kinda fell off the Ales Kot train once all his characters became expert teen hackers. But it sounds like I might need to jump on this series!
