I know. But it’s not like being tied to the X-franchise would do anymore damage. Hell, one of the films is a screenplay Oscar nominee.
Speaking Marvel Television: they might tie the X-franchise to the MCU since they already Legion explore the multiverse and they want an Exiles tv series.
A lot of people just found it boring. And there is nothing really wrong with Iron Fist other than fan expectations.

Why you don't do it-Ewoks say HI.
2 live action Ewok movies and the cartoon show. All took place before Star Wars.
Droids took place before Star Wars-HOWEVER Star Wars 1-3 contradict that series.
Also something called RIGHTS might hamper some encounters. There is a reason we didn't see Joker in Challenge of the Superfriends.
You have these shows in the first place because it's cheaper to do some as shows.
Now there is nothing stopping Marvel from doing minis on guys from films. You don't need Michael B Jordan to do a mini about Killmonger BEFORE the film.
Star Trek, The Chipmunks, Transformers, Ducktales & Power Rangers say HI.They shouldn't simply because in films you have limited amount of time and if they introduced TV characters they'd need to explain who they are because most film fans don't watch the TV shows.
No one asked why Worf was in Star Trek First Contact-Nemesis. When he as on Deep Space 9.
Power Rangers 2 lead to Power Rangers Turbo.
While they are cartoons-Transformers season 3 followed the movie.
Ducktales's final season-followed Ducktales The Movie.
The Chipmunk movie was in season with the show and post series movies followed the tv show. HOWEVER they did not explain where the Chipmunk's puppy came from. As episodes from season 7 & 8 with her have NOT been seen on tv since their LIMITED broadcast airings.
Most folks won't care who came from where.
Everything you pointed was a film that was a continuation of a TV series not characters from a separate TV series coming onto a separate film series and yes while the MCU is connected the films and shows are their own individual things. There's a lot of people who think Coulson is dead for example because they've never seen anything involving Agents of Shield.
The XCU is a mess continuity wise that alone is a reason for Fiege to say no but also the big stars Fassbender, Lawrence, and McAvoy won't be cheap and Jackman is gone so likely they'll recast and if recasting why not just dump all the issue that come with the XCU and reboot?
In his interviews where he mentions the X-Men franchise he thinks the overall direction they take is great and doesn’t seem to consider the continuity errors as a deal breaker. Marvel comics continuity is a mess in general after all.
I don’t think the XCU should be made apart of the MCU timeline and that they shouldn’t have their own version of the X-Men eventually. But I do they should use the XCU to explore more of the cosmic side of the MCU and use it to make an Exiles franchise which has already been pitched as TV series.
