Default Rob Liefeld Working on ‘Huge X-Men Crossover’ for 2019

Finally, what X-fans have been STARVING for. Some new Rob Liefeld content...........well anyways, what do you guys think this is about?

Comics creator Rob Liefeld is working on a new X-Men project for Marvel.

“I have a new project, 2019, it’s a huge X-Men crossover,” Liefeld reportedly said while on a panel at Wizard World Comic Con in Austin, according to MovieWeb. “It’s awesome…Marvel called me up last Thanksgiving and said, ‘We want you to do a big story.’ I said well, let’s see if they’ll go for this, and I tried to do something no one has done before. So I gave them this pretty aggressive proposal for an event and I can’t say what it is, I can’t say what it involves, got a lot of new stuff.”

Exactly what Liefeld’s crossover may involve is unclear, as it has not yet been confirmed by Marvel. As such, the crossover’s title, release date and the creative team(s) involved are not currently known.

Liefeld is known for his work on X-Force and New Mutants. During his time at Marvel, Liefeld co-created Deadpool and Cable, both of whom starred in the recent Deadpool 2. After leaving Marvel, Liefeld went on to co-found Image comics alongside such illustratious creators as Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee and Erik Larsen.

CBR has reached out to Marvel for comment.

Gross. He’s going to make Shatterstar asexual, because he hated PAD confirming his sexuality status, with Rictor.

And with at least 80lbs worth of extra muscles. Oh and women will loose some ribs and their abdomen would become super elastic.

That was one of my first thoughts if he uses Shatterstar. He was very vocal about it never being his vision for the character.

Yup. Wouldn't doubt he finds a way to kill Rictor while he's at it. Then bring in a bunch of new stupid characters. I don't want to come off negative, but this sounds incredibly stupid. Why on earth would Marvel okay this??!??

When I saw this, I thought it must be April 1st.

Has Marvel commented yet? I'm having a hard time believing they'd let him do this, unless it's an alt reality.

Awww I'm always keen on new Liefeld projects. I'll always have a huge soft-spot for the Robster despite his many limits as a writer and as an artist. Hopefully he won't lose interest/have an argument with his editor and quit after 2 issues.

Plus another few quotes from him: https://www.cbr.com/disney-x-men-film-rights-comics/

Here's the deal. Since the X-Men movies came out and Disney didn't have them, I don't know if you've ever paid attention, but Marvel kind of turned the volume down on the X-Men for almost 20 years. Now that they have them more, what was told to me was, 'Oh yeah. Our budgets on the X-Men books are back up to what they used to be because now we own them all'
