The first few scenes with the original IC getting obliterated & the SS raid at the Liberty compleX, were a high octane way to kick things off, that definitely left an impression.
The script was strong and was a solid start to the season. The interpersonal dynamics of the Mutant Underground improved from last season.
The Inner Circle dynamics were the highlight. Grace Buyers was strong. Skyler Samuels was great throughout. Emma Dumont was on fire when projecting confidence and determination, but not so good at projecting uncertainty and indecision.
In all you have enough strong actors making up the Inner Circle it could lift the whole season.

The mystery of what happened to new Mutant Christina's younger sister, is how the Morlocks come into play, I'm guessin'.
It was a good start to the season. I thought the Cuckoos were scene stealers last season, so I was happy to see them feature so prominently in the first episode. I wish they would put more of a spotlight on Sage, though--she is seriously underused. I love seeing Lorna manifest her powers--always impressive--and I'm glad the birth is over with as I wouldn't want to see her out of the action for too long. Thunderbird and Blink were great too, as they were last season. I'm still not a fan of the Strucker family, though Andy was more likeable since he's ditched his teenaged angst for the moment. Looking forward to next episode.
Caught that they shipped Shatter off to Baltimore. Mother-effer, that suX! I liked him.
The Strucker parents maintain their status as the worst parts of this show. Too much airtime.
Dig Reva though.
thank god Lorna gave birth in the first episode and we didnt have to endear her pregnant for long
I prefer Blink's disguised look over her grotesque eyes
Reeva is giving me a Persephone vibe
Too much struckers parents, leaving that aside, it's a great episode

Didn’t love the episode but more than satisfactory. Random thoughts.
1. I’ll concede that the degree of violence against mutants by SS in season 2 does make me more open to *some* of the approaches of the inner circle.
Moreso than last season. I’d say it’s reaching pre-dofp points and I think that justifies a bit more extremity. That being said, the cuckoos are still at the top of my “not acceptable to associate with as a good guy” list. We’ll see if that changes as the season goes on.
2. Polaris will clearly, eventually, split ways with the inner circle and it’ll be a fight since Reeva wants to control her. Once Polaris (and maybe Andy) split I think the n Inner circle becomes full villain.
2. I like the Strucker family. I think for the “average basic white family” (disclaimer: i come from a basic white family) out there watching this show - it gives them a relatable avenue to the mutant experience. A lot of us already xmen fans are already pre condition to be sympathetic with mutants. But not everyone would be. Lauren and Andy “coming out” To their mom in season 1 was almost exactly like my coming out experience to my mom. And my moms opinions have since radically changed (for the better). I think the Strucker family is an important part of this equation, though I can understand how some would find them boring.
3. I think the whole birth scene was kinda cringe worthy. The doctor just mostly had his hands under a sheet and wasnt even looking up in there when he spoke of the labor problems.
4. Daddy Strucker going through his powers manifesting reminds me of gay conversion therapy and it’s failure- it may suppress things but eventually causes a lot of devastation when the gay (mutant powrr) resurfaces.
5. I feel like the show could use a wider scope on examine how bad mutant hatred is now. How does the general public feel about sentinel services? Do most humans at this point support their actions?
6. Polaris calling andy’s Baby name suggestion (bolt) a trrrible porn star name - was this subtle shade being thrown at the inhumans show (black bolt). Lols

Your favorite superhero- the one you visit these forums to talk about. Would they talk to others the way you do on this message board?
also might have been an easter egg of sorts to Chris Bradley whose codename was Bolt and then Maverick later on (Bradley was in X-men Origins: Wolverine played by Dominic Monaghan also) i suspect he might have been originally supposed to be related to Magneto etc but if so that's an abandoned plot thread and more of a guess than anything else on my part.
I thought the acting was pretty bad here, expecially with Reeva.
I love John and Blink who unfortunately get to do very little
Still cannot stand the strucker family
But the Cuckoos were great as always

Great premier. Once again, the Stepford Cuckoos stole the show. And again, Polaris really shined. This episode had a little of everything. It didn't miss a beat from the first season. Looks like it's going to be a fun ride!
