Extermination #3 Spoiler Discussion Thread

The issue jumps around alot so Im going to summarize this by section as it flows better in text format

Xavier Institute
Ahab has made OML a hound and sends him after Beast. He stabs the older version and reveals that Maxime and Mann were plants and have psychic powers which they used to turn characters into hounds. Bobby asks Ahab what he did with the other Bobby but he doesnt know what he's talking about. Storm attacks OML, saving Beast, while dodging an attack from Ahab, which killed Bloodstorm. Ahab tells Young Beast to come with him in order to spare his teammates as one of them will take his place if he doesnt. Before he makes a decision, Kid Cable teleports him out of there. Kitty stands around at a destroyed mansion, fallen teammates and laments over her failure

Searebro
Scott wants to go help the X-men but Jean refuses bc they need to protect him. Kurt is revealed to be a hound and teleports Scott into the ocean to kill him via drowning. The pressure is too much for him to handle so he teleports out of there. Jean uses her TK to bring Scott to safety and the infirmary where Trinary, X-23 and Gabby watch over him

X-wing
Jean admits to scanning X-Force's mind which is why she chose to be with them as she knows they are going after Kid Cable. Shatterstar is revealed to be a hound and goes after Jean. X-Force apprehends him and Jean reveals she cant reach his mind. Shatterstar gets free and Cannonball blasts him outside the plane. Domino and Boom Boom tell Jean what Cable means to them and that X-Force does things differently than the X-men so if she doesnt approve they can drop her off elsewhere to get babysitted

The Pequod (Ahab's base)
Kurt tells Ahab that he killed Scott but Ahab isnt convinced bc he wants the body and is going to Searebro to retrieve it. The french kids tell him that Kid Cable has taken Iceman and Angel but whatever he is planning is too late

Kid Cable's lair
Young Beast, Iceman and Angel are in pods. Mimic is wake and strapped to a machine amputating his wings. Professor has detected the time displaced Jean Grey and as Cable inquires where she is at, the door is blasted revealing Jean and X-Force

This was pretty fun and even though Im not fond of the idea of little Wifi he sure does sound and act like og Cable well enough.

The final page was great... "Oath!"

Its an exclamation Cable uses related to the Askani religion

Like when Storm says "Goddess!"

It refers to The Mother Askani (Rachel) and the sisterhood Cable trained with in the future

This was fantastic, and it has me THAT MUCH MORE EXCITED for X-Force.

All of X-Force sounded great. Cable. Professor. Ugh. Yes.

The fact that Ahab says it's too late makes me question if all of the O5 will be going home.

Yeah, this was rad. Loved this issue. I just wish Younger Cable wasn’t quite so young...if not for him being a kid, this issue would’ve been perfect!

One thing is for sure, though, this Cable seems to be “our Cable”. Only he’s a skinny kid.

All of the hounds were created last issue when everyone was at the institute. Shatterstar, Kurt, etc.

I don't remember them interacting with him. We saw them poking around OML and Kurt at different points, but never Shatterstar.

You'd think they'd have turned more X-Men into Hounds if they just needed to be in the same room
