I always like DOCTOR DOUBLE X. I was thrilled when he appeared in B&B #194.

And Doctor Double X also was the main villain in "A Bat Divided" on the B:TB&TB series.

Too the DC Implosion derail the HUMAN TARGET backup stories. He had two stories in B&B #143-144.

Yes, it seems that the Human Target was another victim of the DC Implosion. They had increased the page count and increased the price from 35 cents to 50 cents, which allowed them to include a back-up feature, but after the Implosion the books shrank back to the usual 32 pages (plus cover) and down to 40 cents.

Notably, B&B added another back-up feature a couple years later with Nemesis. All the DC regular size books added an extra 8 pages of story at that time, not by increasing the page count but by dropping some advertising to free up the space for more story. They also went up from 40 cents to 50 cents--so the added story pages compensated for the price increase.

I always enjoyed reading Nemesis and it held my interest when the lead story didn't (given that Bob Haney was gone by then and Jim Aparo would sometimes miss an issue).

I am glad we didn't see how the internet would have reacted to the DC Implosion in the day. I suspect there may have been some ugly commentary made.
