Such a shame about this, he was one of my all time favourite artists
No cause of death is listed, however its possible it is linked to the stroke he suffered back in 2014

One of the all time great Batman artists,without question. I just found out they were finally releasing another "Legends of the Dark Knight" volume for him. He will be missed.

Devastating. His work with Alan Grant is one of my favourite runs of all time on any comic. He always seemed like a good guy, conversing on social media etc. Awful news

One of the GREATEST Batman artists ever published.
His and Jim Aparo are for me, the definitive Batman. (No offense to the MANY other amazing artists who have worked with the character)
